oregon coronavirus update july 13th 2020 : 280 new cases, 3 deaths
highest cases: Multnomah (82), Washington (47), Marion (36)

they restricted gatherings to 10 people because we cannot keep the corona under control. facemasks are required outside in public if cannot maintain 6 feet of space between groups.

If you look at other states like Florida and Texas I would say Oregon has done a good job keeping it under control.

People are goimg to be pissed here if Kate Brown shuts everything down again in a few weeks.

High is partially due to a transition to a new reporting system, which prevented the processing of positive cases of a few cases for a few hours Thursday.

So blame Thursday for cases being so high today.

highest numbers: Multnomah (41), Washington (34), Wasco (30)
they're blaming it on large gatherings, also to note 3 have the corona in this county including 1 in my town (parks director who works at the pool).

I think most states would kill for numbers like this. The media and governor freaked out last week when we had 4 straight days of 300+.

I wouldn't call that bad. What's going on in Florida, Texas and Arizona is bad. And how does Umatilla county have so many cases? Not many people live over there.

Oregons governor announced a statewide face covering for indoor locations. Originally it was just for the Portland metra area.

Cases last week were 200+,plus, 146 today. She's just looking for an excuse to shut down the state again.

I seriously need to get back to the gym. There's an LA fitness by my house that I used to have a membership for. I'm tempted to go back but worried about what might be dwelling in it. That and do I have to wear a mask while working out since it's indoors?

And the Oregon health authority relewsed new models today regarding the virus. One is a pessimistic scenario that suggests cases could top 5000 a day within a few weeks. A moderate scenario which suggests 900 cases a day in mid July and then a optimistic s Amarion which they claim is less likely.

Imteresting that they release these models a week before the 4th of July. Sounds like a scare tactic to me.

Will you please shut the f*** up. I remember back in February people were saying the national guard was going to be called in and Trump would declare martial law. I also saw a bunch of other people here spewing a bunch of s*** about things that never occurred.

A good chunk of Oregon opens tomorrow (stage 1) except for the 3 counties around Portland and Marion county.

I expect the Portland area to be opened by this time next month. Sadly public pools will not be opening this summer. So this means when we get a heatwave (it can reach 100 here) everyone will flock to either the coast or the rivers.

People here think if the weather is warm then so are the rivers. WRONG! The rivers here get a lot of snow melt from the cascades so they're cold. Lots of drownings here every summer.
