I liked Saga but if I'm being honest with myself it's a mess of a story. Way too many antagonists and it's just not focused enough.

Gears is about the same. I liked the 'mythology' or 'creation story' aspect of Gears but I rather just separate the amazing OST from the game and enjoy just that.

Yeah that's frequently where magic comes from vs. some outside force. I've been thinking a lot about soul and mind lately because of my story planning and it's just gotten me frustrated to find something simple that I'm happy with.

Soul has a lot of overlap with the mind minus the surviving death bit. We regard consciousness as the person in the body but that's how we think of soul too in the modern era, not just some animate supernatural force that makes things living. If the soul isn't consciousness then how does modern era reconcile and decide what's the person between the two?

Hmm, was thinking DS3 for wireless simplicity but then I remembered the problems I had. Random button presses and the analog stick drifting. Went through quite a few controllers. There was also this weird liquid that would leech out the rubber on the analog sticks if the controller was sitting a while.

The DS4 was a lot studier in my experience. Only ever had one and the analog only drifts when the controller is facedown on a table.

I have no experience with DS5.
