I don't know, the Harpoon Gun is beastly. Add to that the damage boost from Cloak and Hunter Mode and it might be possible.

I don't have a Geth yet but I know Hunter Mode seems insanely good. Increased speed and attack when you activate it, and you can see through walls and smoke. You can even see cloaked enemies. It does reduce your shields by 50% though.

Someone on the ME3 boards was saying that with Hunter Mode activated and Cloak on, and the Harpoon Gun at LV10, they were able to one shot banshees and brutes on Silver with headshots. If that's true...wow.

I also got the Batarian Soldier. He's OK, works best in melee range. His blades hit a little weirdly for me, but when they do they are beefy. His grenades seem decent also, but I'm not really a grenade guy.

Batarian Sentinel is the same way. Blade Armor is a very melee oriented version of Tech Armor. Looks awesome, too. It's fun to nail Phantoms, Centurions, and Nemesis' with Submission Net and then FALCON PAWNCH them. It's a one-shot kill, at least on Bronze.

Having it take a certain amount of damage before dissipation wouldn't make it broken. That's how the old tech armor used to work.

The old tech armor was broken and made Insanity a complete cakewalk in ME2.

I feel like it'd be hard to strike a balance between it surviving enough fire to be useful and it lasting so long that it's broken. The way it is now makes sense because it gives you a flat damage reduction from all sources and prevents camping. If it worked like the old tech armor they'd have to drastically increase the recharge time, too. Right now mine recharges in a little over a second.

I haven't used the Batarian Soldier yet, just have the Sentinel. Nevest was using him earlier, he seems pretty good. Blade Armor is awesome, especially if you spec it to reflect 150% of melee damage dealt to you back to enemies. Watching Phantoms bounce off of you and lose tons of health is great. I have no idea what Ballistic Blades do, and Inferno Grenades seem handy.

Plus he has the FALCON PAWNCH.

I always thought it was just a damage reducer. It'd be a bit broken if it blocked everything.

It has potential, though. Damage reduction, faster shield recharge, increased damage to enemies who step into the bubble, and the ability to detonate enemies who step into the bubble.

It also lasts quite a long time and the recharge time is super fast.

Goriness has never really been a big draw for me, to be honest. God of War just feels very basic to me compared to DMC and Bayonetta.

Pssh. And you say I don't have good taste? MGS is one of the greatest damn series ever. And now Platinum Games is coming in to ruin a spin-off that could have been good. I wanted Raiden's story from between MGS2 and 4. Which is what this was going to be originally. Now it's fallen so far and we get this crap.

However, I do admit that I will indeed play it. And I'm expecting the gameplay to be good. Only reason I hated Bayonetta was because of the character herself. I can't stand her. She's ugly and stupid and even though the action of the game entertained me a bit, it was nowhere near on par with the greats such as DMC3 and God of War.

But since Raiden is great, I'm sure I'll enjoy this game enough. But MGS has a great story and I'm just sad that this turned out to be such a missed opportunity.

MGS is good, no doubt, but it just doesn't do it for me.

And lol at God of War having great action gameplay. It's decent at best. Too slow for my tastes.

And I was joking about you having bad tastes, lol. I'm well aware I have slightly weird tastes when it comes to some popular series, so I can't truly knock anyone else's tastes.

It's funny because I used a Vanguard in the beta but I didn't die in stupid ways like that. There were a couple of times where I did get in over my head, but I didn't expect anyone to revive me when I was frigging surrounded by enemies, since it was my own fault.

I love the moment when I see a Vanguard Charge and as soon as he hits an enemy group I know he's going to die. Like a guy I saw earlier who Charged a Cerberus Trooper and got jumped by two Guardians. It's hilarious.

There are many different flavors of cheese. MGS has always been one kind of cheese; Platinum Games has always been another. I dread Rising's all-but-inevitable transformation from one flavor to the next -- a flavor that, to me personally, simply doesn't click so well for the franchise.

Understandable. I guess it's more that I'm not really a big MGS fan. They're good games but that's all they are to me. Not even in my top ten favorite series, which is probably why I can look at this with a less critical eye.

The ME universe isn't quite as big as the Star Wars universe, but the same principles apply. It's pretty easy to lose track of someone if they're careful about not leaving a trail.

anyone have tips for weaponry / specs for

Sentinel
Soldier
Adept
Engineer

just leveling MP classes

Depends on the race as Halo said. Sentinels are kind of difficult to choose. You can go with maxing Tech Armor but your cooldowns will suffer slightly. With my Turian Sentinel it wasn't too bad. I'd take a Phaeston and wreck shop. Chain Overload with full Tech Armor up made me pretty destructive and hard to kill.

With Soldier you want to spam Conc Shot. That's all I really know.

Adepts need fast cooldowns, so take a scoped Paladin or Carnifex.

Engineers are awesome for crowd control. Max Energy Drain on the Salarian Engineer and you can dominate pretty much anything. Combat Drones are pretty useful for distraction purposes. The Quarian Engineer's Sentry Turret isn't quite is useful damage wise, but it seems far more effective at distracting brutes and banshees. I've seen them literally just stand in front of it going "Ohhhhhh shiny!" and not moving. It's hilarious.

Sentinel is better in ME2 but it's still pretty good in ME3. Having both tech and biotics is pretty useful. I went with Defense Matrix as a bonus power. Mostly because of the tech damage boost and the ability to instantly restore shields.

Tech Armor was better in ME2, though. Having to manually detonate it is lame. I think the only time I ever did in ME3 was when I was surrounded by husks.
