I haven't seen anyone complain about The Wasp being a girl or Black Panther being black with any validity; you kinda have to be a little sexist/racist to care when it's presented in that way. The MCU has come a long way from the only woman being a one-dimensional leather-clad Scarlett Johansson (they've fleshed out her character too beyond just being "sexy femme fatale") and Iron Man having a black sidekick and that's it. You can have diversity naturally. Whereas The Last Jedi, which I still liked more than some, was admittedly very much like LOOK IT'S A WOMAN IN CHARGE with Holdo. --- |
