I like how speech was in Fallout 3 better (not how the game used it but how your speech checks were actually calculated). In New Vegas the most effective thing is Speech 100 Charisma 1, in FO3 Charisma plays a big part in it and even then its chance based so you still might fail (I get that some people will save scum but I never do)

It seems like it is possible to beat the game without killing anyone but you have to side with Yes Man or the NCR.

They talk about Lanius as though he is this brutal, godlike savage who has killed hundreds and hundreds of NCR soldiers and is loyal only to Caeser himself. And then you just talk him down by telling him that theyve already lost. Thats just anticlimactic and doesnt fit his previous characterization, who wouldve probably laughed at you and cut you down where you stand.

Someone played System Shock 2 without firing or swinging a weapon once.

You can't complete it as towards the end of the game there's things you have to hit to proceed but he did like 97% of the game.

Going from Joshua Graham, an intelligent badass, to a lackwit murder machine wouldn't make much sense either. I mean, Caesar is fairly bright himself, so he wouldn't make some moron his number two. Just goes to show you that you can't believe all the anti-Legion propaganda!

Still really lame and anticlimactic to have all that build up for nothing. I really like the fact that you can talk him down, but it should be more difficult with multiple checks.
