Ive been having really intense dreams of going home for lunch from work, packing a suitcase + some essentials, and just driving away. North, usually. A few hours later, send a text to everyone that Ive left and wont be answering my phone anymore.

i dont really have a plan after that. I dont have a lot of money. Or skills. But I also get really excited about the idea of just going away. Maybe I start a new life. Maybe I crash into a tree. Maybe I meet someone who also ran away. Maybe they steal my keys.

My company is pretty standard but my department is only 4 people, and our department head has her own policy lol. She doesn't require us to do pto for anything under 2 hours, and is also okay with lunch being 90 minutes, even longer if we notify ahead of time. So effectively you can combine the two and be out for 3-4 hours in the middle of the day if you have errands to run, or leave a couple hours early if you want to head out before EOD.

She also is pretty flexible about start/end times. Work starts at 8:30 but she often doesn't come in until 8:45, and the rest of us are about the same. And we can leave 15-20 minutes early if we want. She also sometimes comes in 60-90 minutes early and leaves 60-90 minutes early, and allows us to do that too. So you could get to work an hour early and then leave 3 hours before EOD.

company also doesnt have a WFH policy but she lets us stay home if were having a busy home life day or just dont feel well.

Its pretty chill. Just as long as everything is getting done.

I think I have a very small one. I dont really talk to myself or read in my own voice naturally, but sometimes I find it easier to remember something if I make myself ask myself? Like if I dont know where I left my keys, Ill make myself ask where did I last see my keys and then Ill answer myself maybe in the kitchen? I used the bottle opener keychain a while ago. I dont know why thats better than just remembering outright, but ehh brains are weird.

I really really suck at picturing things in my head though. I always thought people, teachers, media, etc. were just being flowery when they say that reading a book is like a movie playing in your head. But Ive spoken to people who thats like a real thing for? Like they can see the book playing out? That does not happen to me at all. About the only thing I can picture are the still faces of my immediate family, from 15ish years ago.
