If those sanitizer hoarding brothers are a nationwide example, it's illegal to hoard and scalp essentials during times of crisis or something. The police can seize the stock and redistribute.

Like, these people are going to as many stores as they can, buying hundreds or thousands of these items so that other people can't buy them, then selling them to the people who were deprived of those supplies due to their selfish actions. And it's not like "we were worried about stores closing, we're providing a public service", it's trying to make a gross profit off of these items - turning a $10 pack of masks into an $80 pack of masks to line their own pockets.

Similar laws should go into effect for pharmaceutical companies as well, of course. Raising an anti-HIV drug from like $30 to $7000, or gouging EpiPen prices to several hundred dollars after years of being provided at like $80 per 2-pack - for the exact same item, with no design or ingredient changes - is disgusting, and is a far larger example of what's happening here. "we own this, we can do whatever we went with it because we bought it, if you don't want to pay our price you can go without". It's not right.

Also - why push your religion and way of life on a group of people who have their own beliefs and way of life? The whole "saving their souls in the eyes of the Lord" shit is demeaning. Moving into someone else's territory and forcing them to reject their beliefs and way of life in favor of the "enlightened" Christian way - that's always been a facet of genocide, alienating people from their culture.

Another facet of genocide will be teaching these people English - I can almost guarantee that it'll turn into "now you can only speak English, if you speak your own language you'll be punished". None of these missionary fucks are gonna learn the local language, because in their eyes they're "civilising" and "uplifting" the local populace, and to backpedal to their original tongue will be seen as wrong and bad.

This happened to the indigenous peoples of Australia, up to and including stealing their children and raising them with white families to "civilize" them. We beat them down and forced a western way of life onto them, and it destroyed their culture with the introduction of alcohol, cutting their family bonds and traditions to separate them, and raping them to breed their race out. The Mayans were "uplifted" by the Spanish, which forced their way of life onto them through Christianity and saw the Spanish massacre them through the spread of disease, as well as the destruction of their important cultural artefacts. When the Americans were done with the Native Americans, they put them onto plantations to "assimilate" them.

The pursuit of "enlightening" and "uplifting" native races always end with those races' unique culture, language and physiology being irreversibly altered by these "do-gooding" missionaries. Introducing western religion and customs to people with their own way of life, and making those western values the new norm, only seeks to alter and harm what the native race already has - to alter their way of life to be more "Christian", more "correct". It's in the name of saving them in the eyes of the Lord, but not everybody believes in the Lord and not everybody has to be fucking converted to Christianity. All that says is that they find these people and their way of life objectionable, and it's better to risk the total upheaval and end of their culture than to let them be Godless heathens one second longer.

In short, it's incredibly fucking selfish and self-righteous of these people to "bring the good news of the Lord" to a people who could not give less of a fuck about what any other culture on Earth thinks of them. Let them live their lives as they are, as they're clearly getting along alright, and genocide of the locals always starts with an attempt to "fix" their culture. There's nothing fucking wrong with their culture, you churchy pricks. Leave them the fuck alone.

I think it's a nice gesture at least. It's not like Pringles are selling trans pride editions of their chip flavours like the glut of pride packaging that happens every year for Mardi Gras, and trans people are still targeted pretty heavily by people who consider themselves to be in the LGBT community (fuck terfs btw) - and considering the high suicide rate of transgender people who aren't supported on top of all that, I can't really find anything wrong with this.

Saying something supportive on a date that's significant to the transgender community, as corporate and cynical as you can paint it, is at least a nice gesture.

Old Testament, Catholic/Christian God is, for the sake of Christianity, known as God. So I mean sure, God is an asshole. Yahweh, by virtue of being the same figure in a different interpretation of the mythos, might share traits with the Christian God. But there are different events and interpretations of Yahweh in Judaism, most of them translated directly from texts as old as dirt rather than the multiple translation butcherings that modern Christian bibles are descended from, as well as events and beliefs that the Jewish faith believes in that Christianity doesn't. So Yahweh probably isn't synonymous with the Christian God like this topic is getting at.

Then you have Allah, who's the Muslim interpretation of the Abrahamic God. I doubt anyone on this board would conflate Allah and the beliefs of Islamic people with the Christian God, or vice versa.

Old God in the Christian faith isn't necessarily Yahweh, Middle or Post-Jesus God isn't necessarily Allah. All three are distinct interpretations of the same mythical figure, not evolutionary steps in the same united being.

It's fun, but the two levels I've played so far are... different. I'll have to give it more of a chance.

Whoever said their starting Robot Master is Crystal Snail - that level feels like an endgame level. I played it first, didn't like it, then I went to play Morph Moth's stage.

I just wanna say, Morph Moth is my favorite Robot Master design ever. Holy fuck, I love it. idk if Morph Moth is a guy or a girl robot, but either way they're cute as fuck and their design is so busy and colourful, I love it.

The only place I like to go and socialise is my friend's house. He still lives with his family.

If I'm there to spend time with him and not his family, but his family can still come into contact with me, I'm assuming I would be breaking that law. So now I can't hang out with one of my best friends, at least at his place. We play video games and watch movies in his room, which we can't do anywhere else.

One week later: we're only just now starting to see the start of what was promised last Sunday night. All non essential businesses closed, mandatory quarantine.

I beat X, it was pretty good. I got a couple tips from that Sequelitis video, since I gave it a watch after mentioning it here. Namely - Armored Armadillo's power can be used to farm items in Sigma Stage Four. I was blasting caterpillers and racing their drops to the bottom of the mine shaft, lol.

It really highlights the jump in fidelity from NES to SNES. Not even just visual fidelity - everything about that game has aged stupidly well. The story is a bit basic, but it HAS a story - not just an opening cutscene and a finishing scroll. It has the power-up arc, which takes the standard Mega Man formula and contextualises it visually in X's shifting design. Dashing and wall jumping are absolute godsends, and it transforms the game into such a different beast than the core series before it.

It's an incredible example of how an old franchise can be modernised - it's a perfect reboot. And more than anything, it holds up.

Like there's a post from ages ago where a white supremacist talks about an insanely detailed statue of a lady like "this is our heritage, this is our beauty, don't let them take this from us", and it turns out that the statue was made by a Chinese woman in like 2016. So everyone piled on him and started calling him a stupid bigot, and making fun of him for being so impassioned and kinda horny over it, and for choosing a statue that fell outside of his narrow, reductive worldview. You know, as you do when you see that fringe dogshit followed by a bunch of gratuitous Latin.

If that goof had happened today? Label him a simp. Make fun of how he worships this statue of an almost naked lady and talks about how it belongs to the whites, like a stupid drooling moron.

Cuck was more like "lol you beta (weak) soyboy (green) lefty lib, I bet you let other men fuck your wives as a form of feminist empowerment". A: they reuse his voice clips. A lot of the clips are pretty similar - whoops, cheers, short words like "yahoo!". As far as New Super Mario Bros and the spinoff titles go, they might get away with reusing voice clips for everyone.

B: they get a soundalike. This could just be for Mario, with other characters getting new voice actors and possibly new characterisation to fit these new voices, or they could replace Charles with a handful of VA gatekeepers to keep the Nintendo magic alive.

C: they hire a new VA with their own personal flair, and Nintendo takes the opportunity to experiment with the character a little. Maybe they do a little rebranding, or test the waters for a serious paradigm shift. This ties into B, since the other characters will need to be voiced too and they might get a similar treatment.

While the building blocks of Mario have always been there - you're an Italian bloke named Mario who has to rescue a princess - Mario has changed pretty radically over the years. 3 was a departure from 1 and 2, Yoshi's Island flipped the formula entirely (if you consider it a mainline game), 64 smashed the polygon ceiling with a resounding success, Sunshine was a radical departure with more of a story emphasis, Galaxy crafted an excellent story with game mechanics that have no business being as good as they were... but ever since 3D World, you have people complaining about recent titles being mediocre Mario games with an abundance of gimmicks and no soul. Personally I enjoyed Odyssey, but on here especially the verdict seemed to be "alright, but not great". I can understand why people see something like Cappie as a gimmick rather than as a step forward.

So if a massive, immutable aspect of the Mario franchise like Charles Martinet does pass on, I think Nintendo would take the opportunity to experiment with the formula. I think that rather than emulate Charles, the team would work with the new VA and get a gauge for their energy and delivery to deliver a Mario game that's true to the franchise - while taking in the essence of the new voice talent to ensure that above all else, Mario feels as authentic as he always has.
