Kind of felt like it fit with Jake's character, he just constantly gives this vibe that he's not 100% there so him talking through this hallucinatory tribal sequence kind of worked there, lol. Not sure I'd feel the same way if it came from anyone else and yeah ideally the editors have the restraint to just do that once and not again. BlueCrystalTear posted... Chris Daugherty cost his tribe the first challenge and he won the season despite barely surviving the first vote 5-4. Oh yeah I forgot about that, obviously can never forget his endgame run but also overcoming that first episode. Untoppable. |

Think this might've been my favourite Amazing Race episode week but I was also watching it while playing MK8 so I probably should watch it again properly... Survivor, I'm just glad Kellie got immunity so I didn't have to sweat that out, I was expecting the split-tribe when he said there'd be two eliminations last week. Phew (though sucks that Kaleb didn't survive) Also I think foolmo's right re: Emily, I mean I don't think she wins but if she actually won... that would have to be the greatest turnaround from episode 1 in Survivor history, right? Who's the lead contender on that front, the only person in that realm that comes to mind is Rudy surviving a 4-3-1 vote at the first tribal and finishing 3rd place... Underleveled posted... That moment right there was one of the strangest things I've ever seen the editors do. When/what part was this alluding to? the challenge-winning-toe monologue and zoom-in? lol Chaeix posted... I wish the edit did any explaining of how Drew was just not a possibility Yeah I wonder, I guess it's one of those things where we're not as privy to behind the scenes and where people's thoughts are. I can picture them seeing Drew as not being a threat and Sifu being one. He seems more sociable, more likeable, and has strength for the always-feared individual immunity run. Or thinking Sifu has an idol and taking the opportunity to blindside him. So I can rationalize it that way but yeah, they probably could've played up the "Drew's in danger" angle up more since he didn't have his advantage with him. |

I won't be able to play any of the new courses for a day or two but I did see some buzz already so, looking forward to them! |

I didn't even consider that taking that box on Lap 2 or Lap 3 would guarantee you don't get a strong item, but I guess a literal reading of that makes that the case? Ideally they just meant the "sitting still to get same box twice" move... |

| MartinFF7 11/08/23 11:50:12 PM #29 | oh wow that last bullet - one of my favourite things to do is offline versus races where I drive in reverse (since game won't let you properly drive backwards) to the finish line so I basically have to do 4 laps while the CPU leader is often halfway through their lap 2 by that point, then the challenge is catching up to win (there's only like.... 8 or 9 courses you can reasonably do this on). So I feel like that patch is going to interfere with my thing if it hits all game modes, but at least it'll quash the sandbagging in online races I hear is pretty bad. ....I mean if you drive in reverse avoiding the item boxes and then drive forward to take a box you still get the strong item, right? Or put yourself in a slightly-forward diagonal angle to hit two boxes, lol. |

I am probably being too harsh, I mean I am looking forward to the fight scenes and Kingpin/Daredevil stuff like I said, my concern is how much is going to be focused on like, Echo's life or backstory - a lot based on what we saw in the trailer - and since she's still a character I don't care about I'm not particularly looking forward to that stuff! Like the tagline on IMDB, "Maya Lopez must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward"...eh... |

Toad's Factory and N64 Wario Stadium are the other two biggest misses for me, and more Rainbow Roads, I guess. Lots of missed SMK potential to put some unique twists on those courses too. But yeah it's tricky - even if they go halfsies and just do 24 courses in a Pass 2, they charged $24.99 for the first pass right? So I guess they'd go like, $14.99 for pass 2? then it just feels like leftovers, yeah. now picturing them giving us a Luigi Cup with all the crap Luigi tracks, lol |

I really liked the credits showing what would happen to Paradis Island in the far flung future just humans being humans yeah that sequence was from the "extra pages" that were put out like, a while after the final manga chapter was released. And as the episode was ending I was like "I hope they include the extra pages in the credits sequence" and they did!! Good ending and good series all around though its best stuff was in the earlier seasons, of course. Between that, a Sanosuke-centric Kenshin episode and a Yor-centric SxF episode (and a haremn-centric Goblin Slayer episode), been an A+ anime week for me. |

Peachette is pretty dumb but I know people were waiting for Funky Kong, at least he should be nerfed relative to MKWii Pauline's pose when going into glider mode (1:19 mark) got me feeling some kind of way... N64 Wario Stadium still left out in the cold, damn. Also found it interesting how they spent so much time on Wii Rainbow Road in that trailer and then like, 5 seconds on each of the other courses. I guess it was to sync up with the background song but still found that a little odd (Wii Rainbow Road was a top 3 MKWii track for me so am very excited) Going to feel so weird this being the last set, when did Wave 1 happen, early 2022? Time flies by... countdown to MK9 I guess, unless they really do pull out a 2nd BCP somehow |

Three outliers being Yuna, Barret and Ardyn peaking at 5th, 6th, and 24th (!!) place, respectively interesting of the series w/ 5 characters left, there's two FF6 vs FFX matchups and one 7vs10, then the all-FF8 and all-FF4 matchups. FF9 fighting off twice w/ both FF6 and FF7. FF13.... almost feels like it could go 0/3 but it very well could be 3/3! or more likely somewhere in between, sure, but will be interesting to see. |

How I rationalize Cissnei's R1 defeat tbh, lol but in Emet's case, while I haven't played the game I've watched enough that I love the character and on that day, would've voted for him over anyone but Sephiroth or Auron, so #3 of 10 characters, tough bracket placement. I like to think that result is more due to Auron's strength than anything but I guess we'll see next round. |
