tl;dw: The black and white inks react differently to different electricity charges, you can get the color you want to the surface simply by applying the right charge.

Normally it's best to use it, so I always do.

However, some places, like newspapers, require you that you specifically not use it to save on page space. Also because things can often be reordered to remove any ambiguity.

They made a blog post about that. Basically, they want to make it $30 so that there can be no microtransactions in it at all.

Clicker Heroes 1 is free, but there are microtransactions. They're also completely useless, but they talked about some people spending hundreds or thousands of people on those microtransactions, and they want to avoid that.

Also, Clicker Heroes 1 is a pretty great game. Even being a clicker.

I hate phone calls too. I'm such a visually oriented person, so being blind to facial expressions really makes it hard sometimes to read the other person and process the information.

I'm not really a visually oriented person, but I do prefer talking to people in person. It just feels easier to me.

That's basically all I use for DnD stuff.

This call wasn't actually about DnD.

I mentioned DnD because part of the reason I started to play it was to get over all this. I do all that no problem since it's all online. I have a bunch of my old applications for games so I have a base to work off of. Then most communication outside of game is already text, and then playing is easy because everyone is there to have fun, and I'm generally used to everyone after a couple sessions.

It's helped to some extent, but I think it's mostly just made me develop shortcuts for it. :s

Yeah, like I do it anyways, and I do it fine. But my mind kind of shuts down after and I have to sit there for a good 10 minutes afterwards to come back to my senses. :s

Phone anxiety is a very real and serious thing, so don't let people shame you about it. Unfortunately the only way out of it is through it. Make phone calls until it hopefully doesn't bother you any more. I was like phone crippled for a long time until Zang forced me to make my own calls and I got over it. :P

Yeah, don't worry. The only one I let knock me down is myself. And I'm sure I'll get over having to make phone calls eventually. It's just frustrating now.

If it helps at all the people that answer phones talk to people that sound way more awkward and dumb than you every day, so try not to worry about how you come across

Honestly, I think just about every single person I've ever talked to on the phone has been genuinely nice and helpful. I don't have any problem actually talking and I don't think I even sound awkward. It's just the initial placing/answering the call and the cooldown period afterwards. I don't even know what I'm ever worried about and I really have no idea where this anxiety even started because I didn't have this problem when I was growing up.

Pleasantly surprised. I didn't much care for The Force Awakens, and I actually disliked Rogue One enough that I dropped it an hour and a half in, but I actually enjoyed The Last Jedi like I did the older stuff.

Yeah, my sister announced that her boyfriend found bedbugs at his house, so we have to check our house to make sure they didn't spread. Frankly, that announcement didn't even surprise me considering his family and that it's happened before.

Also, may have had some expired chicken for lunch. Don't care though. Still tasted good. Or rather, I don't care yet.

But, yeah... It really is one of those days.

I don't get this line of thinking honestly.
I get that huge bundles are gone and the endless need to check for flash sales are also gone.
But during those times the cheapest games were 2.50.
Now there are 100's of games of not more under that price.

Half the games I wanted had a larger sale in the past... No Man's Sky that I bought (yes, really) was 50% off when it's been consistently 60% off every time it's been on sale for the past year. Kind of annoyed me, because I was fully expecting it to be 60% off, so it reduced the amount of games I got.

Seems counterproductive to make it so I can't talk to other people when they do that then. All they get then is me screaming at the mic trying to get it to pick stuff up.

Well, I don't know what it is then. Cause Windows detects my sounds from my mic. But Discord doesn't detect a single thing unless I run it as admin.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers. Ran updates. Tried to use my mic as both a USB and in the 3.5mm jack in the back of the PC. I've tried other mics, and other PCs. Apart from other PCs not needing to run the programs as admin, nothing changes.

And the only significant thing that has happened since I've used my mic last is that Windows did a big update. But for whatever reason, reverting that update didn't even fix it.

Cool. After an hour and a half of troubleshooting, which included restoring to before the Windows update this week, I figured out that any program that needs the mic needs to be run as admin in order to have access to the mic.

WHO AT WINDOWS DECIDED THAT?!

I can test it, and Windows itself hears me and repeats it back to me. I can use the Voice Recorder app and it works fine. But if I dare try and use it with Discord, Skype, or Chrome, they don't detect a single thing no matter how loud I scream.
