This is so fucking stupid. All he did was eat at restaurant without a mask among people in his own circle and people are losing their dumbass minds over it. People are getting their asses wrecked over the fact that imposed lockdowns ... to save people from fucking dying and preventing the hospital systems from being overwhelmed. California was one of the hardest hit states, theres high populaton density in the bay area and LA. Even in central valley, outside of the actual farms themselves the suburbs are congested and people are concentrated in small areas. California would've been Florida right now if he didn't do everything he did.

Honestly his covid response has fantastic. Its just right wing nutjobs getting worked up over nothing. Even Trump has praised Newsome in the past for how he's done in terms of COVID. And people getting upset at his meal is just people being stupid. It just happened to be one of the bougiest restaurants in the area.

Its like if your doctor told you to not smoke and he goes out and smokes an expensive cigar. It doesn't mean he's a bad doctor, he gave you good advice.

lol. I know its not ideal but my in-laws are actually amazingly nice people. This just kills so many birds with 1 stone. No spending money on rent and bills. Free babysitters. Because of that, wife can actually work so we could save even more money (She dying to go back to work, she's tired of being at home). I also don't have to worry about flying my wife and I back and fourth to scope out houses to rent/buy while we're long distance. This sorta settles our living situation near where we want to settle long term, so we can easily drive around the city scouting out neighborhoods and houses.

And tbh the parents in-laws are amazing. Its the other family that can sometimes get annoying. But my solution to that is that I'll just be working alot.

For maybe 6-12 months to save up some money to put a down payment on a house.

The plan was always to rent a small house, save up money, then buy a house. But I realized, my in-laws live in a 6 bedroom house and occupy 1 room themselves. It would add 15 min to my commute each way but it would save us thousands of dollars a month. Its a nice luxury to have, and lucky to have awesome in-laws, and we could buy a house much sooner. Keep all our shit in a storage til then. They're also the type that they would refuse money for rent or bills (I've already brought it up and offered, they strongly declined). My only expense would be groceries.

Samsung has failed me with the S10+. Never received any updates for my phone since day 1. Also sucks when it turns out it depends on your carrier and yet, Samsung phones usually stop getting updates after nearly 3 years.

I dont know what you're smoking because I've had my Galaxy s9+ since release day in March 2018. I get regular updates, the most recent being earlier this week....about 3.5 years after its release.

Phone still works great. Unlike iPhone, I was able to add a micro SD card and expand my storage space. Only downside is battery life dies quickly, but its partly how I use it. I literally get like 100+ notifications a day, anything from work texts, personal txts, friends group chat, work group chat, spam personal emails, spam work emails, etc. I'm also always on my phone for work purposes. If I'm not using it heavily, the batter still lasts me for the day. Even if I do use it alot, it'll still get me through my work day until I commute home where I can charge in my car. I want to get a new phone only cuz my screen cracked cuz my toddler literally dropped it on concrete while I was holding him. Otherwise I would probably have kept using this phone for a while longer.

I've had iPhones in the past, last one being iPhone 6s plus, it dramatically lost efficiency after about a year, and after about 2 years it was un-usable. Storage was all gone, I had to carry a portable charger with me cuz the battery died too quickly. It was was great for about a year, after that it went to shit quickly.

I will probably never go back to apple again tbh. Android is just better.

People are crucifying the book on reviews because "B is for Bulldozer" actually shows a picture of a frontend loader and

"Really, it is 2018, almost 2019. For BOYS ???? I know lots of girls who would love this book."

"My daughter loves all kinds of vehicles, so I really wanted to buy her this book. It's really too bad she doesn't have the right genetalia with which to read it."

My two-year-old (and resident truck expert) quickly pointed out that the image for B was in fact NOT a bulldozer - "No mommy. That's a FRONTEND LOADER. Bulldozers have TRACKS".

okay, lady.

Is this was 2021 has come to?

How do you know the doctors in areas of low vaccination rates are telling their patients to get the vaccine? They are people too who also have an agenda and/or aren't immune to propaganda.

Plus there are so few doctors that most people have to see nurse practitioners now and from what we have seen on social media, a decent amount of the the nurses are anti-vax.

This is something we do have to consider, ur right.
96% of MDs are vaccinated
https://www.ama-assn.org/press-center/press-releases/ama-survey-shows-over-96-doctors-fully-vaccinated-against-covid-19
84% of NPs are vaccinated
https://www.npwh.org/lms/filebrowser/file?fileName=NPWH%20COVID%20February%20Survey%20Results.pdf
70% of RNs are vaccinated
https://www.nursingworld.org/news/news-releases/2021/leading-nursing-organizations-partner-to-launch-covid-19-vaccine-information-campaign-for-nurses/

In the NP survey, most of the ones who declined the vaccine did so due to concerns over 'safety, side effect, and efficacy' and a few over 'pregnancy'.

I still see providers (MDs or NP/PAs) prescribing hydroxychloroquine from time to time, and more frequently I've been seeing Ivermectin. Both of those really makes me question some of these providers. Ivermectin, sure fine, I wouldn't do it but I'm not gonna crucify you. If a provider tells me they're still using hydroxychloroquine, I'll probably rip them a new one.

Quickly searched covid numbers in california.

California's current peak cases are 33% of its peak cases last winter when the whole country was hit hardest. Currently averaging 14k per day. If you break it down by county, santa clara and LA counties are doing amazingly well compared to their winter peaks. Theres just alot of shithole red counties throughout california that fuck things up. You guys think california is all liberal, there is a very large chunk that is ignorantly red.

Louisiana's peak cases are over 1.5 times higher than last winter.

Mississippi cases are also about 1.5 times higher than last winters peak.

Florida peaked at 29k new cases a day, 18k was their winter 7-day average max, again over 1.5x the cases.

Arkansas is seeing about 2.3k new cases per day, they were at 3k at their peak last winter.

Kentucky is at 3.9k new cases per day, their winter peak was also 3.9k new cases.

Texas cases are slightly down from their peak in January. Averaging around 17k cases per day currently, their peak was 22k in winter.

New York winter peak was 16k per day, currently at 4k per day.

I know mississippi has opened up some field hospitals. Our hospital brought in another group of army doctors and nurses but they're going to be managing non-covid patients, which is annoying because we actually like taking care of those patients. Managing only covid gets exhausting. I'm sure its happening all over the place where they are overwhelmed. Mississippi turned a parking garage into a hospital. Whats sad is even that wasn't enough and they had to open a second field hospital.

I literally told you guys this weeks ago.

Kakli recalled making multiple phone calls to other facilities, only to get a lot of, "sorry sorry sorry," in reply.

I'm on the other end of that line saying 'sorry'. But if its a case like this where they absolutely need the specialist right away and if they don't they die, then I bend the rules, regardless if my higher ups get upset. I'd probably accept him as a transfer and tell the transfer center to prioritize an ICU bed for him instead of our ER patients who technically already have critical care beds.

But yea I've said sorry to multiple doctors at these smaller ERs who don't have the resources they need to treat their patients. And I tell them all the same thing, "people aren't getting the vaccine, so covid is overwhelming us right now". And the docs on the other end go, "we hear that same story from everyone we call"

This was fucking 4 weeks ago.

For the most part these guys will go to the doctor, do whatever tests the doctor tells them, take whatever meds the doctor tells them. They may ask what are the side effects, the doctor tells them. Especially here in the south there is very very poor health literacy people take meds and have no clue what they are, why they're taking them, or the side effects to watch for.

But when all that same stuff applies to the vaccine, where the benefits overwhelmingly outweigh the risks, and is pretty much the most effective thing we have against covid, people lose their minds and suddenly everyone is an immunization expert.

And its ironic because if a patient ever hears, "theres this brand new medication that is super effective, better than anything we have", patients tend to get excited and think of that in a positive light.
