MaddenDude-- 11/03/20 8:33:23 AM #1 | I haven't followed super closely, but based on the number of mail in votes, do you guys think we'll have an actual result tonight? Or do yall think itll be too close to call until they're all counted in a few days? |

Topic | 538's FINAL Model For The Presidential Election Is Out (D-89%, R-10%, Tie - 1%) |
MaddenDude-- 11/03/20 8:29:09 AM #12 | The only bad poll is the one in the opening post that basically has multiple options that essentially mean the same thing. |
Topic | I hate living in the south |
MaddenDude-- 11/03/20 8:26:10 AM #7 | The Trent posted... my neighbors are super nice and we all get along, but i'm super lovable and don't hate people based on their politics I get along with the bible thumpers because we don't talk politics. The blatant Trumper on the other side is just a bad parent and it gets annoying. |
Topic | I am envious of Trump supporters in one way |
MaddenDude-- 11/03/20 8:21:20 AM #5 | Its hilarious how many Trumpers I see in my clinic who are on some kind of government sponsored program to get them free medications. |
Topic | I hate living in the south |
MaddenDude-- 11/03/20 8:19:38 AM #5 | CHM_Punk posted... Have you considered moving? I'm stuck here for medical training, in 1.5 years I am moving far away from here and probably never coming back. Infact, I am planning to save up all my vacation time and using it all at the very end just so I can leave here a few weeks sooner. |
Topic | I hate living in the south |
MaddenDude-- 11/03/20 8:13:18 AM #1 | One neighbor is a Trumper. The other neighbour is a bible thumping anti-vaxer. |
Topic | I have a confession: I really dislike my inlaws |
MaddenDude-- 11/03/20 7:35:43 AM #1 | My wife's parents, uncles, aunts, etc are all awesome. My wife has an oldest sister, 12 years older, who is super judgemental, controlling, and annoying. She also happens to be a Trumper. Shes visiting next week. She's the type that will go around the house, criticize every little thing about the interior design, food choices, whatever, make all these suggestions for things that we don't want to spend money on. I'm really good at just having these things go in one ear and out the other. My wife takes it all personally cuz its her sister. She gets annoyed with her too, but she can't tell her not to come over cuz its her sister and also because we wanna see our nieces and nephews who are all actually pretty chill. |
Topic | It's insane to me how some people's number 1 issue is abortion |
MaddenDude-- 11/02/20 9:41:52 PM #25 | Its just a topic that politicians embellish to brainwash bible thumpers. Thats why John Bell Edwards is so smart, he scarified this one issue to get the thumpers and won as a democrat in a republican state. |
Topic | It's insane to me how some people's number 1 issue is abortion |
MaddenDude-- 11/02/20 12:42:56 PM #1 | And there's a 99% chance that that issue will never actually effect their own lives. It tends to be the Bible thumpers but there's so many of them in the south. |
Topic | oh god is big bang theory going to be looked back as fondly as say a Friends or |
MaddenDude-- 11/02/20 12:38:44 PM #65 | It's maybe as good as family matters. Not even as good as home improvement |
Topic | Remember the Mall Rats movie from 1995? |
MaddenDude-- 11/01/20 9:16:32 PM #8 | Malls can still make it. Its just a matter of investing and creativity, both of which most mall owners lack. People like being social outdoors and dressing up and taking their families out of the house. |
Topic | Heres the thing about Taxes and political parties |
MaddenDude-- 11/01/20 4:13:53 PM #1 | Republicans tax plans might allow me to pocket a few grand more every year. But if I have any sort of investments, I will make much more than that if there is a health economy. At this point Trump has had like 8 months to manage this pandemic and he has failed miserably. Even now his supporters are the majority of anti-maskers which is continuing to cause problems. The only reason for his anti-maskedness is to try and encourage people to go out and spend more on the economy to make him look better. Its just a bad plan altogether. The economy will end up suffering more because this whole mess will last longer. |
Topic | This is Magafornia! |

Topic | If Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson ran for president in 2024, he would win |
MaddenDude-- 11/01/20 9:27:58 AM #23 | He would have to run as a republican with libertarian values. Kinda like Arnold |

Topic | California is not as great as it used to be |
MaddenDude-- 11/01/20 8:58:53 AM #4 | Thats the tradeoff...tons of things to do, amazing restaurants, great vibes in downtown sac. Its also drivable to Tahoe, Yosemite, and SF if you want a bigger city. Tahoe is pretty much a yearly trip for me and thats while I'm generally busy. If I'm permanently settled there with a family, it will be at least a twice-a-year trip. |
Topic | California is not as great as it used to be |
MaddenDude-- 11/01/20 8:45:47 AM #1 | I was born and raised in California and have a ton of California pride. Right now I live outside of California and have a huge California flag in my garage. But I feel like every time I go back its just shittier and shittier. More pollution, less trees, more congested and crowded. I am from San Jose and I barely recognize the city anymore since I grew up. It just doesn't have the same vibe. I've thought about moving to the greater sacramento area. There are some nice parts there, like El Dorado Hills area, or west/south of that like parts of Folsom, Granite Bay, maybe some parts of Roseville, that are affordable also. But the bang for the buck is just not there. I've thought hard about making a permanent move to Nevada, no state income tax, cheap living, etc. But Las Vegas feels like a desert. Not alot of greenery. The weather doesn't bother me as much as the landscape. I lived there for a few years already so I know what its like. And Reno is trash lol. |
