The way I read some posters on here is that if you use the OK sign at all, you're a racist piece of shit that deserves to be socially ostracized. There's usually very little nuance in regards to applying context. So in the context of labeling everyone X because they use one symbol, it gives way too much power to said people trying to make those banal symbols used for racially motivated or other unsavory reasons.

I don't know the context behind 88 being controversial. And my understanding of the Swastika is the Nazi Swastika is backwards in facing compared to the historical swastika, so as long as you're not popping off instantly, you can still distinguish between a Neo-Nazi/Nazi spray painting one or using one and innocent uses of the historical swastika.

Well, unless it's happening on a systemic level, I don't think a one-off should be taken to mean much. Now if a string of (racially motivated) mass murders happen and they all are arrested and do the ok-sign at points of their trials then, yes, it should be taken more seriously.

Everybody just seems so willing to give racists and undesirable elements of society control over whatever they latch on to, without fighting them tooth and nail. By acknowledging them trying to seize control of something, you're giving their claims legitimacy.

It's like if the entire world started acknowledging the Donbas as part of Russia now. It would wholly legitimize Russia's sham referendum.

Or they went to a smaller or cheaper school and they took on a mid level paying job, nothing fancy, and prioritized paying it off because inflation wasn't so rampant to the point where things have basically doubled in price.

They don't need a vaccine shot to control you. You're already easily influenceable via the internet. They don't need a chip to track you, you have a phone in your pocket that does that for them. They don't need to force you to get identification, they already gave a social security number or National Identification Number (or equivalent) that you need in order to open up stuff like bank accounts.

Unless you're living off the grid (you're not, you're on gamefaqs), were born in a extremely rural area and were never reported to the government, growing your own food, and only interacting with a very limited, restricted and strictly monitored handful of people, then you're under some level of control at all times anyways.
