I feel like I only ever hear about tax write offs for shows and movies from Warner Bros.-related stuff, ever since Megas XLR was written off.

About dang time someone tries to address this ridiculous practice.

I've only had it once and the chocolate was too hard, it cut up my mouth, and the taste wasn't anything noteworthy. So, wouldn't care to try them again.

Nope. Current place is bigger than the last three homes, though, but smaller than the first one.

I always said it was a mistake to sell that first place rather than investing in repairing it.

I think I just used a normal fan patch or few to play it a few years ago. Felt plenty playable then and I'm sure I would feel the same way now.

Do you have working eyes and ears? Mana has one of the strongest presentations of any game, ever. Definitely not hard to understand the appeal there.

I was actually slightly exaggerating. Very slightly.

I do actually respect the game for its graphics and music, since it paved the way for games like Chrono Trigger. Its impact is undeniable. It's just not an enjoyable experience beyond that.

I wouldn't rate it a 1/10 or anything. I give it points for the presentation values, and for still being mostly playable.

I respect your opinion and 100% agree, and go even further, it's one of the worst games I ever played and I'll continue to be baffled people place it among the SNES greats.

Dreamcast topics are fascinating. People post a list of all its great games and I'm like "wow, literally only one of those games interest me"

Which makes it a bit hard to really understand the hype of the console due to my less-than-varied tastes.

It makes sense why Eevee was picked.

Eevee has maintained its popularity over the years. Jigglypuff hasn't. That was evident as far back as Gen 2.

It's interesting the variety of reasons why people would rank each game the way they are. There are so many facets to these games to appreciate or hate.

I went to do the Kitakami Ogre Clan quest and thankfully I haven't hit the 300 limit and was able to complete the quest.

Certainly not my first rodeo with trying to carefully navigate around / hope I don't trigger a game breaking bug, but man, it's disappointing I even have to do that in the first place.

so yes if gamefreak was not stupid and just asked they could get the help of experts at crafting large worlds

They are mainly for art and assets, not exactly for technical support.

You realize that because of how often Monolith helps put on other projects and their own game they might not have the man power to help right?

It's not actually much of an issue as it was during the BotW and XC2 days. They have specifically hired a lot more people for all their teams so they don't run into the lack of manpower issue again. Now, sure, if you want the Xenoblade team to help, then that's likely not really much of an option because they have their own games to develop, but the support side is available and assists on like half of the Nintendo EPD projects. Though, like I mentioned above, they are mainly an art and asset studio, not entirely sure how much technical support they provide.

I really don't like that people are critical of others for daring to enjoy a product in spite of its issues.

Now I'm immediately gunning for the Ogre Clan now that I know of this bug and hope I didn't reach the 300 limit. If I do, then oh well, I'll just have to hope for a patch. This would be the type of thing that Game Freak would actually address because it's extremely glaring, and probably more fixable than the performance issues which seem to be tied to a much deeper flaw in the way in they designed the game that's probably much harder to fix.

A miniseries. Pokemon does a miniseries that gets posted on Youtube at least once a generation. This one focuses on a few characters in Paldea, taking place before the games, and will be four episodes, and just posted its first episode.

Oh, so when I never got round to playing the next games, I screwed up this guy's whole reveal up big time. He never got to power up and become Reshurem or Zekyurom or whatever those are.

Amusingly, despite the sequels expanding on Kyurem, it is still a Pokemon with some unsolved mysteries. If you get around to White 2, you'll probably end up coming to the same question that has been haunting the fanbase for the last 11 years, and the main reason why people want a Pokemon Legends: Kyurem so much.

Nope, they thought of that. It'll just get the PP of the move you replaced. So if you had 1 PP left, and replace the move, the new move will have 1 PP.

He's this game's lv70+ in a big postgame cave. That means he's getting compared to Mewtwo and Rayquaza instantly. Inventors of uber and anything goes respectively. Does Kyurem no favors.

Kyurem was the first time they made the third Legendary seem unimpressive. It has a lower base stat total compared to Reshiram and Zekrom, and is basically meant to look feeble. It's basically meant to make you question it, think there is more to it, and gives you no answers in the game. So when you get to the sequel...

Secondly, this sounds like a self-inflicted vicious cycle to me. Does he have to stay frozen? Is this like Charmander's tail flame going out? Does this level 75 legendary actually die like Superman dies to kryptonite if I keep him near a radiator for a while?

Kyurem can't help it. Its frostiness is so overwhelming no radiator can hope to stop it. Also it's Dragon/Ice so Fire is neutral against it.

You know, with all the people I follow saying they got Bluesky accounts, it's almost weird that a lot of them don't actively use it yet. Guess it's the waiting game for it to become public / for Twitter to finally scare everyone off before it really gets the activity. Unless it loses the Twitter alternative war to Threads or whatever.

Maybe? I'm not too familiar with what makes up the common standbys for first playthroughs. You certainly don't hear it like Gen 2 and 4 where 90% of players had the same three-five Pokemon.
Out all of those the only I used actively was Krookodile, and Lilligant in the sequel. Can't imagine Conkeldurr was too common due to the trade evolution requirement.

2, Is there really no Stealth Rock TM?
3, I forgot to praise how little this game has made me use HMs, even at this point I've only found three. The game only really made me use cut a few times and fly still feels mandatory. I'm only now giving the water fossil surf and hopefully it'll be able to learn strength when I find that.

1. Nope. You train by beating up daily athletes in the Nimbasa stadiums.
2. Nope. They realized allowing Stealth Rock to be everywhere was a grave mistake.
3. Yeah, after Gen 4 required way too many HMs, they dialed back on their need a ton starting from Gen 5 onward.

Zekrom and Reshiram have a fairly big catch rate due to being required catches.

Every time I hear a population argument I think about how the human population is bigger than most animal species. There are more humans than cats and dogs combined, the only species that there are more of are species bred for human consumption like chickens, and insects.

While technically the planet can support plenty more humans, and we can technically fit the whole of humanity in an area the size of Texas, thinking about it with these comparisons to other animals in mind makes the sheer size of human population seem... wrong.

I would like to think I'm good, but if I had incredible power I don't think I would resist making things go my way. Superheroes don't tend to like uplifting the status quo so... I guess I'm a supervillain, but, like, the type with good intentions.

I largely just pay attention to the people I follow so I don't really drift outside of that sphere and be exposed to the terrible stuff all that much. If I see it, I just block. Once the people I follow fully move over to another platform I'll move as well... though if it becomes Bluesky that becomes a problem because it's not like I know anyone that can get me a referral while it is in its perpetual early access state, lol.

The promotion tweets are getting out of hand, though.

Considering how much doesn't match up with Xenosaga, you probably shouldn't expect this link to be a direct, definitive link, but rather a suggestion of a revisit of Xenosaga concepts in future games. It also references the other Xeno games as well.

They curbstomped me in the first attempts with my random team of underlevelled characters. Came back with my more well equipped characters and had a much better time. Buffs, reflects, prioritize fake Elie or breaking whoever is charged up, the whole thing.

Weirdly, there's not really any game I'm excited about right now. I'm interested in half of this list but I'm not in any rush. Of those five, I haven't even played the predecessors to four of them yet, so the only one here I have an interest in that I would be willing to jump in immediately is Lies of P. So I guess I'll vote for that.

Violet was the first time my main game was the second one of the pair.

For what reason there would be split up government positions and agencies across the country, away from the main hub of government activity? I can't understand it from an economical, practical, or even fascist authoritarian viewpoint. Unless I'm missing something here.

Theyre officially the legendary beasts.

They actually don't have an official group name at all. Very few Legendary sets do. The names we use are most often fanmade.

There is a designer interview that essentially confirms they started as cats before adding more elements.

Anyone who calls a saber tooth cat a dog is quite blind.
"Legendary Dogs" is now also even more foolish because you could easily conflate that with Zacian and Zamazenta instead.

Honestly we need a new name, but Legendary Beasts is definitely the most appropriate, they are ultimately based on varied mythical beasts anyway.

Sounds like an interesting concept. I did not realize it existed, Transformers series seem to pop out of nowhere, haha. It feels like it's been ages since there was a series that fit what I want out of a Transformers show.

This just only reminded me I haven't watched Transformers series for quite awhile and my memory may not be that great, but I recall liking the Netflix series, but a favorite? I'm not sure, would need to rewatch it.

Huge nostalgia for Cybertron
Animated was great
and for a fifth... hmm... Armada had issues, so did Beast Machines, but I still enjoyed both quite a bit, particularly their endings. Can't decide.

I need to do an updated Transformers marathon. Lots of reassessment to make, plus the stuff I haven't watched yet.

Save states is the only way I can beat a lot of NES and SNES era games.

I used cheese strats against Midir in Dark Souls 3 and Malenia in Elden Ring. I also use spirit summons in Elden Ring 95% of the time when available. Bloodborne, and Sekiro even moreso, feel too limited and makes me not care for them as much in comparison to their sibling games that emphasize more play style diversity.

Super Mario 64's overtuned momentum makes it very frustrating and I cannot appreciate its movement systems in the slightest.

There's an option to use the sticks instead of motion controls. It still sounds awkward to me, but I haven't played either version of the game, so I can't judge.

The button controls option for Skyward Sword is fine. It's a bit awkward but not unmanageable. It makes some things easier than motion controls, and some things harder.

I would say to anyone interested in Skyward Sword should give it a shot with both, see what works, what doesn't, and decide from there.
Though, one of things made easier with buttons over motion is flying and skydiving. Like significantly so. It removed like 70% of the difficulty of a skydiving minigame.

It's my number 1 favorite game.

I think I'm satisfied with it.

Yeah, unfortunately, Pokemon games are just slow. It has to have a textbox for every little thing, and no matter how fast you make the text, that will be slow no matter what.

For example, the move Quiver Dance increases Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed. So, in Pokemon, it'll go
"[Pokemon] used Quiver Dance!"
"Its Sp. Attack was raised!"
"Its Sp. Defense was raised!"
"Its Speed was raised!"

So, four textboxes, each on screen for like a second. It adds up. Then you have stuff "[Pokemon] was buffeted by sandstorm!", "[Pokemon] was hurt by poison!" and such. It can be quite a drag. Other RPGs will combine the effects into one textbox, or have an icon indicating something changed, but Pokemon still insists on this slow method, presumably so new players can grasp every single piece of info.

The worst part, the developers know how to streamline how info is presented, as the previous Pokemon game, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, had a bit of textbox streamlining and icons. It's still slow, but not as slow.

Seems a bit complicated when you can just get by just fusing your good horns you will assuredly collect over time just killing whatever.

Am I in a rush to play most of these games anytime soon?

I was going to play Secret of Evermore, and the original Trials of Mana, but the gameplay of Secret of Mana was so awful I couldn't fathom playing anything even remotely similar to it. Every time I hear a game compared with Secret of Mana favorably it's an instant "nope".
