Glad to see ToT getting some love. That have was somethin special I almost wanna go back and play it more now, but I just bought Mineral Town so Id feel like a dope doing that.

I kind of do, too lol. I've been playing the FOMT remake *hard* and it feels like I'm already close to running out of things to do? I'm not the type that can keep playing for the sake of playing without any goals, but my only (reasonable) goals left are the cursed/mythical tools and the expensive villa. The heart/breeding system for livestock continues to rub me the wrong way, and while the game is goddamn fantastic for being such a faithful remake, that also comes with the less content thing.

I don't know, maybe it's just me. I probably should have taken this game slower, too lol. I was just so excited and went overboard. Which leaves me with kind of wanting to check out Animal Parade or replay ToT later on in the year, which like you said, seems silly.

We finally get to hear Estelle, Joshua, and Renne. With them reprising the VA they had in the Sky games, to boot.

I like how self-aware she is of what she's doing. Easily raking in that dough from dummies, you go girl :v

The stuff with Cliff is the exact same in this game. They even straight up tell you "Hey you should ask that guy who's always at the church!" If Cliff leaves, I imagine it's intentional and the player just hates him a LOT lol

But yeah I can in terms of things to do and customization, it isn't Stardew. Though I hate the characters in Stardew, with the ones in this being way better imo. It also doesn't hold a candle to something like Trio of Towns (which is my favorite of this genre, period) but that doesn't stop me from loving this a lot.

In case anyone else is curious about the elevator in the mines, you have to gift the goddess for 100 days to unlock it (a cutscene will occur when you walk into one of the mines). And the warping is for every 50 floors, in both mines.

I ended up picking Gray, we just started dating. I'm happy with my choice :)

I don't think there are any you can forage, but I might be wrong about that. For yourself though you can have 5 trees on your farm, and you can buy them for 1k each at Gotts' place. I'm not sure if there's a way to remove them or not if you end up not liking what you picked, though.

And to sell Van's Favorite (and things like dishes) you need to get Huang to 4 music notes. I give him apples and oranges from the trees.

I love Ran so much, she tempted me a lot. I finally decided to go with Gray, though.

It's the first game by WolfEye Studios, which was founded by a couple people from Arkane. It carries on their love of the "immersive sim" still, with this one being isometric and set in a...well. Weird western setting.

Ack, I didn't know what Van's Favorite was the first time I got one, gave it to Van like a dummy. Later learned it can be sold for 55k to Huang lol.

Oh God, I forgot there was 65000 floors in DS (iirc you skip a ton of floors if you fall down holes tho, right?). And wasn't that silent princess at the bottom and you had to make that trip everytime just to give her gifts if you wanted to marry her and bang her? Fuck that >_>

Is this actually a good game? Harvest Moon has fallen off so bad over the years and now it has the incomparable Stardew Valley taking a massive slice of the pie

imo yes, but I also love recent games in the series. Trio of Towns stomps all over Stardew for me.

I'm narrowing my interests down to Gray, Doctor, and Ran. Brandon I'm on the fence on, if he's less "artist with his head up his ass" or not.

A lot of Americans think that would infringe on our freedoms. -_-

I think I'll like The Surge from everything I've seen and heard about it. Did you like the first Lords of the Fallen, then?

I don't think I stuck around Tale of Two Towns very long, either, though I don't remember why at this point. There are some other ones I haven't played at all that i'd really like to at some point, like Animal Parade and Grand Bazaar.

I last minute bought Yakuza 0 and The Surge haha xP

My personal favorite is Trio of Towns, these days. I'm not sure if Mineral Town remake will beat it or not but either way I know I'm going to love every ounce of it.

With any luck the game will unlock here in less than 3 hours for me.

This site should help. Essentially, completely different graphics. Whether it's an upgrade or not depends on the individual (I love them, personally). XSEED handles it now so it has a new and improved translation. For features, same sex marriage is now available. Two new candidates. More heart events. Mining is more convenient. Crops have a rank now. More variety in pets, farm animals, and crops. A new park area in town, and there are some clothing options (from what I understand, the clothing isn't like in the 3DS games so don't expect that).
