Do you mean the little hinge cracks on the DS Lite? Those were very common, but not important. The main durability issue DS had was the shoulder buttons

The cracks were important because they made it so that the hinge was loose and the screen flopped about and wouldnt sit at an angle only 180 degrees. They would crack sometimes even when you were gentle with it every time

Also, any time a minor works, it should be purely for the benefit of the minor. They should be working towards something like an industry recognised degree in an apprenticeship or something. Not just as a sweatshop worker or deep in the mines or flipping burgers

the benefit the business receives is an increased pool of talented employees to potentially hire from, and most likely first pick of whoever they are apprenticing so long as they arent a shit employer (read: any of these shitty businesses supporting this due to how cheap it is to employee children)

if the job isnt contributing towards something like a degree or their apprenticeship, businesses should be banned from hiring children for that job. So yes that rules out bagging groceries etc

Its better to legislate universal basic income rather than mandated child labour that puts their education at risk

businesses dont provide safe working conditions because thats an expense they cant justify, not even for children. The entire point of hiring children is to cut costs

Thats the point of hiring children instead of adults
well, one of the points. Children are less likely to complain or sue the business when injured, are less likely to suffer long term injury from something like slipping over, etc. all in all cheaper and less risk for the business
