When I changed my diet a few years ago I made an effort to identify the situations that caused me to overeat. For example, taking a container of food(box of crackers, bag of chips, etc.) to the couch with me or to my desk at work. I found that I would always eat more than I intended to with an open container than if I portion my food before going to the place that I eat it. Similarly, I changed to portioning my meals on a plate and then prohibiting myself from going back for additional servings. Those happened to be 2 of the bad eating habits that I unconsciously did and were very easy to prevent. There may be ideas you can make to help yourself from accidentally overeating. Also want to second the cheat meal thing. Always give yourself a treat every now and then. --- no |
