have you see any Jarvans in your recent games FD? If so (and if there weren't roflfeeders), what did they build? I'm having success with TriForce+Reverie+Tank Items lately, but TriForce feels like Guile's Theme (goes with everything) as of late, so I'm curious if I'm doing it wrong or something. The dude is way, wayyyyy too fun to play to play wrong. DEMACIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
PS: Speaking of which, did we ever use that as a topic title? If not, that should be the next one.
To explain it all, I'm working on two wars: the Second War of Board 8, AKA the Tom war, and Our Digital Wargame, my own war with a bunch of extra-experimental tweaks and favorite characters, going beyond the strangeness of the setup I'm working on with tom (in theory. in practice I've been trying to contact him for a while). Second War is going to be a war with fully open comm channels and an anti-bunker mechanic. Digital Wargame is just an outline at this point.
EDIT: Oh right, and rule-enforced covenants. I had forgotten about those, though I might not actually go through with it.
Kog'Maw: 0.9 Power, 0.1 Mobility (more like 0.4 Power, but you get what I mean)
Miss Fortune: 0.7 Power, 0.3 mobility
Tristana: 0.5 Power, 0.5 Mobility
Ashe: 0.4 Power, 0.3 Mobility, 3.0 Utility
Corki: 0.9 Power, 0.6 Mobility
Vayne: 0.7 Power, 0.8 Mobility
Ezreal: 0.1 Power, 0.9 Mobility
In other words, Ezreal is by far the most slippery carry, but his damage is kinda terrible. They really need to fix his spellforce to give 75% AS like it should.
British Accent>>American Accent for drama, as somebody who's a third party in this debate. Casual convos probably work best with american accents though.
Biolizard28 posted... Are they ever going to redo Cassiopeia so she's no longer just for robots?
Maybe once they're convinced she does, in fact, require a robot to play. Her kit is solid, like I said; The only thing she needs is not being as punishing with high pings and requiring pinpoint button mashing with the twinfangs.
Frostswamp posted... Oh come on FD it can't be any faster then playing SCII at a high level, granted that would mean you'd have to be Korean, and have a college degree in lol...
SCII? nonononononono. You're not thinking straight. Cassiopeia is not best compared to Korean APMs. She's best compared to this:
Explanation for those who don't know the MvC2 scene: Dhalsim has a bunch of infinites and ridiculously broken crap in MvC2, enough to let him put the fear of god into the Big Four, but it's all one-frame, super difficult links. *In theory*, he's either the most broken or one of the most broken characters in the game. In practice, nobody, not even the japanese pros, is that good at linking, and only a robot could exploit his full potential. Cassiopeia is like that: the half-second cooldown on Twinfang is too punishing to make her work. If RIOT wants her to be usable they have to cut that CD in at least half when poison is ticking.
OK, after more plank games, I think I finall have a handle on him. Believe it or not, his main item is NOT IE...but instead triforce. He needs way too many stats and items to do his stuff, so triforce is just plain glorious on him. Sheen subs for IE early on, and later on combos with ghostblade and Edge to annihilate enemies, the slow is gold, and crit is crit. Whatever you do, rush this on pirate. Don't listen to people who tell you to play tankplank - the true strength of pirate comes from being POWER! COURAGE! AND WISDOM! ALL IN ONE!
It was the superficially nice but actually sinister vibe they gave off mostly. Exactly like those characters, one of whom is a raging psychopathic assassin, and the other one is one person you really do not want to see angry.
You know, I just realized something after reading Satou's posts: there's a distinct lack of BB Hood/Anita in the grail wars. Note to self: for the Digital Wargame project, be sure to include one of the two.
To be fair me being right is actually surprising even without the jab here because knowing this requires lots of item analysis: since Eleisa's Miracle came out, you have no reason not to pick up Swifties and Miracle in place of Mercs, giving you nearly as much Tenacity but more of dat speed. The only other option if you don't go with this is Mercs...and Reverie for the stupid high MS boost on tap. Depending on how much Tenacity you'll need those are the only two viable choices for Singed (especially because Banshee's will tank a CC for you, diminishing the need for even MORE reduction than your ult provides).
Speaking of playing with me JC and HGR realo, one of these days we have to do a ranked together imo. I'm dying to see you do some HARDCORE SINGED AKSHUN. :P
PS: Lopen not disappointing in this page. That elo discussion was a++.
PPS: Reset time is unknown. Probably not happening soon, but stats will likely not reset in any case.
PPPS: Swifties 4 lyfe, ignore Ingmar, he talks outta his ass here.
Forceful_Dragon posted... From: Anagram | #136 I've been trying it out when I need some AS but can't afford a PD, and so far it's been fine for me. Is this a good idea to keep using? Or am I overlooking something obvious?
Really only useful on someone like teemo, who can use the attack speed for IAS status carry, but will also make use of the CDR and AP in some measure once you upgrade it down the road.
Kayle fits too I suppose?
This. It's a god-tier item for Teemo, Kog'Maw, and Kayle. Everybody else need not apply.
PS: Speaking of which, Teemo so good. Kicking down four towers plus inhib with a single baron, aww yeah
Haguile posted... Problem with a character getting better is that it's the same as telling someone they will stop being stabbed in the face after ten hours. While the feeling of not being stabbed in the face is nice, there is no reason why I couldn't just not be stabbed in the face from the start and instead just get some massage after ten hours, making me go from neutral to happy instead of angry to neutral.
Don't think too much about that comparison. I certainly didn't.
This. Nobody cares if the dude improves thirty hours in - there's three things that MUSTbe perfect on every single RPG:
A) The lead. B) The villain. C) The world.
The world works, and the villain is alright I guess, but good god is Emil terrible early on. Not just meh or bad, he's a textbook example on how to write a character to mock the audience with, except he's instead supposed to be a hero we cheer for. If a hero doesn't have a pair of balls that drag on the ground as he walks, he better be believably characterized in his fears and foibles. Emil is neither, and he consequently sucks.
Lightning Strikes posted... Still don't get the DotNW hate.
I mean it wasn't great, but it was kind of fun.
Also, do strategy RPGs count? The Wii has those!
People identify most with the lead of a game, since he's your avatar. When said avatar is a spineless, insufferably idjit, the game tends to suck because who wants to be in the shoes of a spineless, insufferable idjit? It'd be like being a Ken Follet female lead!
From: Biolizard28 | #087 So yeah, by Monday I'll have Anivia in my grasp and try my luck for when Miss Fortune or Maoki goes on sale, whichever comes first.
Any pro tips for Articuno?
IM Red ingame. Listen to what he says. Master it. "gg"

From: Heroic_CactObo | #052 in the tribunal just got a 1-game case where a sion played 54 minutes, had a full build and a decent k/d/a, said nothing in chat, his team won, and 2 opponents reported him for afk/leaving
....?
uhh...guess the flood of horrible jerks is receding then? Dunno how a 1-case player got into the Tribunal otherwise.

You know the "send a carry bot to get babysat" strategy? Gangplank can play that strategy normally, but if he feels like it he can force the other babysat carry out of lane all day erryday, while doubling his gold score because Parrrrley is dumb as hell. He's broken, broken, broken.
Forceful_Dragon posted... does parrrrley still apply mallet?
Yes. You don 't need mallet because you already slow though, and Gangplank has Jax syndrome (i. e. relied on ****ty bullcrap for so long all his numbers are stupidly high). Parrrrley needs a full remake, because giving Gangplank one to two extra creeps every time he kills something with it is dumb as hell - I'm finishing Manamune 6 minutes in for crying out loud!
EDIT: Basically Peaf, imagine if Gangplank had a hidden passive that read "every other creep gangplank kills counts for one to two extra creeps". So take the final creepscore, multiply it by 50%, and you've got Gangplank. He was held back by being better through denying *****es before, and by sucking horribly in lane in recent times, but the new Grog-Soaked Blade makes it impossible to beat him if he has a good lanemate because at its maximum level of stacking it slows like Ashe's Frost Shot and adds an extra autoattack a second, and it's trivially easy to get into a position to get those five stacks, thanks to Raise Morale being Mundo's Masochism and the movespeed portion of Sadism in one comfortable package. The game I talked about five posts ago? Yeah, I died to Golem TWICE, got counterjungled, had a 2-9 Teemo that robbed us of midlane, a Kayle who had to solobot, and I STILL came back to win and had something like a 4 or 5:1 KDA ratio. It's THAT dumb.
Go 0-4 at start, rally the team, convince the blitz who's gonna quit to stay and fight, "Adel Dijerek is legendary", go 10-0 on my fifth life, threeshot the enemy tankwick...it's good to be Winbeard. Easily the most fun I've had since Morde, except my champion is OP this time (seriously, jungleplank should not be able to come back from a 0-4 deficit)! :P
So uh, move over Ashe, Gangplank's the new utility carry in town. Same ridiculous utility (in a different fashion of course), but can deal completely gross amounts of damage, which Ashe can't if she's going utility. Not even bothering with Gold/10 items these days - just rushing manamune, then IE, then some crit, then the game is won. So many teamfights can be won easily if you ult smartly.
Significant Milestone for the session we've just had, guys. This allows you to repick skills and stunts, plus you get an extra skillpoint! Remember to jot it down!
