Use the "WiFi Analyzer" phone app to walk around and figure out what signals are coming from where.

With many WiFi Routers that don't have external Antenna, make sure you figure how the internal Antenna is oriented and adjust the positioning of the Router so that it emits the signal in the optimum direction.

But imagine how fixed antenna angles are when they are hidden in the body of your WiFi Router. Then adjust the orientation of the router to best fix the emission lobes for better strength / coverage.

Also consider DD-WRT or other open source WiFi Router firmware if your current default OEM Firmware is giving you crap performance.

I'm pretty sure MS is planning to launch with 2x tiers of hardware performance at launch.

One Maxed out, one base tier that should be better than the curren top of the line hardware.

Just keep pace with Digital Foundry, they've done some pretty good analysis on what MS/Sony are doing.

From all the information I can get about the Xbox Series X high end unit, the GPU is effectively a Navi with 56 Compute Units

The current AMD Radeon High End SKU is the Radeon 5700 XT and that has only 40 Compute Units

Back in the Vega generation, they made SKU's that had up to 64 Compute Unites.

We know for a fact that AMD is holding back on it's customer base by not intruding higher CU units.

It's only a matter of time before we see newer Radeon Navi SKU's with Higher Comput Units.

It sounds like the PS5 will handle PS4 BC by downclocking the console to basically play the games as natively as possible. Similar to how the PS4 Pro handles games that aren't enhanced.

So basically I'll believe it when I see it. It would take a lot of work to enhance older games.

That sounds right with all the info Digital Foundry has been releasing.

Having dedicated Clock settings to mimic older consoles is a cheap and easy way of implementing back compat.

They could, but they won't.

Just having x86 Backwards compatibility will be enough work for Sony.

So I realistically only expect PS4 Back Compat.

Everything else, own a PS1/PS2/PS3.

It's going to be far easier to maintain Back Compat moving foreward though since they seem to be sticking to x86 from AMD.

PS4 is on x86 based hardware, having full PS4 back compat should be expected.

PS1-PS3 shouldn't be backwards compatible given that they are on vastly different architectures.

But that's not that big of a deal IMO.
