But that's the problem, The information is wrong. If you can't take actions to verify the situation before you act on it, isn't that problematic?

I realize that you have to be quick when reacting to situations, but we can't be thoughtless....

How can they "verify the information", though? Like through which channels and by which means do you propose they do that?

They could call the number in question to the house. They could find out who lived there through dispatch. They could attempt to call back the number that called them. They could alert the people who live next door that a person was burning down the house next door and they should evacuate.

Infact the more I think about this problem, the more I see like this was a big deal and was met with a rather quick and efficient, "Guess we can only go to their house, demand they come out, and then shoot them."
