1 is a classic storywise, but the gameplay is just painful

2 is a vast improvement in gameplay, but I was never really a fan of the orange and yellow art style and the story in retrospect is kind of pointless

3 has far and away the best gameplay of the trilogy. The ending is dreadful, and the story is weak in other places, but it's serviceable

Overall, I'd say 3>2>1

3 also has the multiplayer going for it.

I've been playing through on hard and now I kinda wish I'd have been playing on nightmare. The only issue I'd see with it is I got confused/lost several times even with the map so doing it without one would've been awful.

I also want to go for the no death achievment at some point but that one won't be happening soon.

Honestly my favorite part of the game is when the alien executes people who shoot at you. I'm failing to sneak by this guy and he yells at me to back off. Then he spots me again and shoots and misses. Less than 10 seconds later the alien is out of the vent and has murdered him.

That's what you get for being a dick.

And don't forget to use the tracker. I thought it was very handy

If anything I'm overusing the motion tracker. Sometimes I just can't tell if it's just gotten in or out of the vent and being able to see he's infront of me but not visible is a nice tell that it's in the vent and I can move.

I made it all the way through medical. Got my trauma kit and got out without dying once. I'm definitely getting better at this.

Highlight of that section was I was hiding from another scavenger and waiting for him to leave the room. I needed to go right down the hallway I saw him go left so I thought I would just swoosh on past him. He took about 3 steps down the hallway, yelled 'oh shit', fired a single shot at the alien, then ran where I needed to go and died.

Cowered under a bed as the alien walked by. He walked by a second time about 10 seconds later before pissing off into the vents. 10 seconds after that some guy walks by like nothing is happening.

I'm definitely throwing the guy under the bus when the alien comes back.

I used the noise maker the last attempt where I died.

Made it through without using any consumables at all when I got it.

There was one part where I was searching a room and he doubled back 2-3 times and kept me stuck in there for 3-5 minutes. Apart from that it went beautifully.
