When I was younger, I didn't mind the song at all. I can still listen to it without complaint. But when you listen beyond the chorus (which is all I think most people who remember it fondly remember) you start to see why people thought it was bad. That disappointment in mind, it's not enough to fit this list. I'd rather see SMS or SMB1 here out of the mainline Mario games. SMB1 does not belong on this list at all. It's a timeless classic. Moreso than perhaps any other Mario game. SMB1 is the game I started my kids on, because it's so easily accessible for anyone. It's one of the most intuitive games there is. The simplicity of it allows it to hold up better than any other NES game. I don't think many games have aged as well as Mario 1 has. It's a theme used even in Super Mario Maker, and even has callbacks in Super Mario Odyssey. --- The user formerly known as Ashethan |

Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Assassin's Creed Tomb Raider Goldeneye hasn't aged well at all. I remember in middle school it was the only game my friends wanted to play! I begged my mom to get this game for me so I could play it. But the controls today are just unplayable. I tried getting my daughter to play with me, and she found it very boring. FPS's aren't either of our things, but I have to say it was a massive disappointment to go back to this game and find out its aged like milk, rather than wine. I tried playing Oblivion sometime back. I had an easier time getting into Morrowind. Oblivion might have been something when it first came out. But today? It's just pretty unplayable for me. --- The user formerly known as Ashethan |

I mostly went with the first four I remembered (except Final Fantasy VI, because I felt that commercial where mog's like "NEXT!" was only seen by a few people) For some reason that one stuck out so much for me.
