IRL and when talking to each other, we're having real and very uncomfortable conversations about what to do about the genocide and other issues. But I reiterate, I've heard people say they want to push Biden, that they're disgusted by him, and yes, even some say we should create a labor party eventually or challenge the Democrats in the future. The loudest voices are 1. Push Him without a statement of what comes afterwards if he doesn't move and 2. Push Him with a commitment to a harm reduction vote/voting your conscience.

It touches on settler colonialism, militarism, racism, islamophobia, anti-left sentiment, it's an international struggle, and these are people that believe in international solidarity with all oppressed people in opposition to militarized capitalist and state power. Methods of oppression used by colonial powers and corporations to enforce colonization are almost always brought back home and the first people they're used on are the leftists and unionists.

TLDR: they believe in solidarity, oppose oppression of vulnerable groups, and believe these tactics of control will eventually be used on them if not defeated.

I think the most likely outcome is a ton of protests, some violence that is swiftly put down and condemned, and then a long period of repression to permanently destroy the left.

Realistically to TC's question though, no. Not in the sense that you are thinking. The likeliest scenario is simply that there are massive protests in all of the largest cities that will be brutally put down by police and DHS (like Portland a few years back) leading to massive unrest and a tanking of the economy, which the Trump administration will be completely unable to deal with due to it being filled with incompetent lickspittles.

What happens then determines the scale of violence that follows. If something to fix the economy doesn't happen then you'll have a shitload of people with nothing to lose. It's always then that things happen if they are going to. The French Revolution and The Russian Revolution especially were triggered by huge chunks of their populations that essentially had very little to lose. They were able to overwhelm and overthrow systems that should have been able to crush fairly quickly.

Thing is, in the scenario, you are looking at the dissolution of the US as a nation. Any left leaning Government installed in that scenario will be viewed as illegitimate by the every single red leaning state and a chunk of blue leaning ones as well. Which means a breakdown into regional factions that are unlikely to be able to control the majority of populations they ostensibly rule. IE China during the Warlord period prior to the Japanese invasion.

Another problem is that the very value of Palestine life is becoming a partisan value. Many republicans, not all, but most who vote for Trump seem to think that Gaza being wiped out " is what they deserve for 9 11" and want Israel to purge them all.

Its becoming a clash between those who want no one to die and those who want everyone not them to suffer and die...if Trump is in power its a safe bet he would help kill as many as possible.

The militant group Hamas has released footage of 64-year-old American-Israeli hostage Keith Siegel, still alive after more than 200 days in captivity.

In the video, Siegel and Israeli hostage Omri Miran, 46, appear gaunt and clearly emotionally distressed as they address the camera. The two men speak in Hebrew to identify themselves and say theyre hoping for a hostage deal that could allow them to return home, according to a translation by The Times of Israel.

Siegel has been missing since he and his wife, Aviva, were kidnapped by Hamas militants on Oct. 7 from the Kibbutz Kfar Aza. Aviva Siegel was released during the seven-day November ceasefire and hostage deal.

The video of Siegel and Miran is undated but includes details that suggest the clips were filmed very recently. Siegel mentions the Passover holiday, which falls between April 22 and April 30, and Miran says hes been held captive for 202 days.
As of Saturday, the hostages were kidnapped 204 days ago.

The video is the first evidence released by Hamas that Siegel is alive, and comes just days after the extremist group released a video of another American-Israeli hostage, Hersh Goldberg-Polin. In that video, Goldberg-Polin criticizes Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for abandoning the hostages still in Gaza.
