http://fox6now.com/2017/08/13/18-year-old-charged-in-brutal-brass-knuckles-beating-told-investigators-he-was-peer-pressured-into-the-attack/

The woman told investigators the male suspects “rushed at her and pushed her to the ground.” She said she screamed as loudly as she could, and covered her head. She said she was punched in the head and her body was kicked until she dropped the keys.

The suspects were able to get away with a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe and a 2013 Toyota Corolla.

There, they spoke with a victim who indicated she parked, and spent five to 10 minutes in her vehicle checking her phone. As she exited, the door was yanked open by a black male suspect who “immediately began punching (the victim) in the head with his fist using brass knuckles.” The victim said she was punched five to six times in the head, and the suspect then tried yanking her out of the vehicle by her leg — breaking her sandal. This, as a female was yelling “grab the purse! Grab the purse!”

Five days later, police learned of a 2014 Buick LaCrosse that had been stolen. That vehicle was tracked using OnStar to a location near 84th and Congress. There, police observed a black male jump out of the driver’s seat and run from officers.

http://www.tmj4.com/news/local-news/grandmother-beaten-outside-gas-station-in-strong-armed-robbery-on-north-side

Sharon Mckinnie, a 50-year-old mother and grandmother, said she stopped at the gas station to get a soda on her way home. As she was about to get in her car, she was jumped by what she described as teenagers.

"All of a sudden, a girl she just come and wrap both of her hands in my hair," Mckinnie said.

The attack goes on for roughly four minutes while Mckinnie tried to get away. The suspects, she said, wanted her car.

"When the guy was stomping on me, he was telling me to give her the keys, that's what it was about," she said.

As the attack happened, a man sitting on the curb just watched. Mckinnie said the man was panhandling and had asked her for money when she walked in the store.

"He actually picked my soda up and started drinking my soda because he told me if I had gave him some change he would have helped me," she said.

Mckinnie said she has a fractured elbow and will need surgery on her shoulder.

As stated by the victim of the most recent car-jacking/assault incident:

Mckinnie said she herself has a 15-year-old grandson.

"I really hope my grandson learns from this you know because right now there's no discipline, there's no respect here in Wisconsin, these children are just...they are very out of hand here," she said.

It's telling when this type of event is picked up and reported by a foreign news station, especially if the only other news covered on the US not being related to the government (like the U.S. Administration's stance on North Korea or the Korea-US Free Trade) is the violence going on in Charlottesville over statues.

Can you blame them if their perceptions are painted by these incidents?

Way better than the TPP

At its core, the TPP was a way of the US having leverage over China in trade. All the garbage that made it bad in people's eyes should have been addressed. It should have been revised, not scrapped.

With it we would have been at the head of a 13 nation trading bloc aimed to deal with China. Without it, we're negotiating with China by ourselves, at a massive disadvantage.

Democrats always ruining things, right? Seeing as they overwhelmingly opposed the deal which forced Obama to beg Republicans to vote in favor of it.

Chicago literally has almost double the number of body bags per year compared to St. Louis, but because the latter has a smaller population, it makes it seem like Chicago is better.

Which is pretty bad if you think "Well, 500 inner city blacks are dead this year, but it's all good because St. Louis has a higher rate of homicides!, even though only 200 die each year over there"

What does this have to do with the EU?

In response to when this news first broke, the Austrian government implemented a cap on the number of refugees to admit; which angered other EU members:

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-35609823

Just 80 asylum applications will be accepted each day at Austria's southern border, after which it will shut.

The European migration commissioner has described the measure as "plainly incompatible" with European Union law.

The EU's migration commissioner, Dimitris Avramopoulos, has written to Austria's interior minister, saying the cap is plainly incompatible with Austria's obligations under EU and international law.

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker criticised the Austrian move, remarking that "solo national approaches were not recommended".

[...]

"It avoids a potential confrontation with the wider EU. Brussels had warned that a limit on numbers of asylum seekers would break the bloc’s rules, as well as pandering to the rise of the far-right.

Tougher restrictions brought in after a breach in the cap would have seen unsuccessful applicants turned away at the border, breaching EU rules on asylum and free movement.

"Breaking EU law openly would have been a huge embarrassment for Austria," said a spokesman for Austria's Catholic Caritas charity, which works with refugees and asylum seekers."

Source?
Because it's surely not the case for education. If Affirmative Action benefited white women the most, logic assumes that their enrollment numbers should fall the hardest once repealed since they no longer receive the benefits. Looking at the statistics of universities that banned racial preference, that's not the case.

http://www.mercurynews.com/2013/06/21/affirmative-action-ban-at-uc-15-years-later/
Proposition 209 — approved in 1996 — instantly changed the odds for black, Latino and Native American students vying for a spot in the selective University of California system. The change was felt most acutely at UC Berkeley and UCLA, two of the nation’s most competitive and prestigious public universities.

At Cal, the freshman admission rates for those three groups plunged by more than 50 percent between 1997 and 1998, the year the ban took effect — from 45 percent to 20 percent. The proportion of black freshmen fell by half, to 3.4 percent of the class.
