Moving the minimum wage up means needing to increase the pay for those that already make $15/hr, which then forces the business to increase pay for everyone else higher up the payscale.

In an organization with multiple job positions with varying pay, that could mean thousands more in payroll costs, which would be passed onto the consumer.

I mean, why would a nurse settle for being paid $5 more than a janitor, having to go through years of schooling and debt?
Oh, right, then the push would then move to make higher education free.

Basically that means everyone would be paying more taxes to pay for these pie-in-the-sky policies.

But the homeless guy on parole for murdering his mother stomps out an Asian person and that angle is mysteriously absent from the discussion...why is that?

Ask Democrats, since they always respond to attributing these types of crimes to mental health issues as a cop-out.
Also, Republicans have no qualms with locking the mentally ill away in institutions for the betterment of society, but apparently that's considered a violation of "individual rights" or something. Ask yourself why he was out and about despite stabbing his mother to death, rather than being locked away.

And if you aren't aware, the usual course of action when deadly force is used by police is an internal investigation, not an immediate arrest and prosecution for "murder/manslaughter".

A soldier that kills a person while in a firefight is not immediately put on trial either.

Answer the question directly. How long was that particular restriction?

Tried to save you from looking like a fool.
2 weeks.
And seeing that you clearly don't own a business, otherwise you would have known this
Add another 4-5 weeks for the bank to process your PPP application and then to send you the check in the mail.

And before you start, do you agree that people being delayed from applying (not receiving/processing, but applying) unemployment and other forms of aid, for two weeks, won't have any impact whatsoever, right?

TheOtherMike posted...

Again, answer the question.

If you can't infer that COVID restrictions telling restaurants and hotels that they can't operate without restrictions would impact a bakery that generates a majority of their revenue from said businesses, then this conversation is clearly too complicated for you.

Look at the criminals that are attacking Asians in California.

https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2021-03-12/ex-con-charged-with-murder-of-75-year-old-asian-man-in-oakland

OAKLAND An ex-convict was charged with murder Thursday in the death of a 75-year-old Asian American man prosecutors say was shoved to the ground during a strong-arm robbery in Oakland.
Teaunte Bailey, 26, of Oakland, was charged with the death of Pak Ho, who suffered a brain injury in Tuesdays robbery and died Thursday.
Bailey also was charged in connection with another robbery, according to the Alameda County district attorneys office.
It wasnt immediately known whether Bailey had an attorney who could speak for him.
Ho was taking his morning walk near his Adams Point home when he was shoved to the ground, struck his head on the pavement and suffered brain damage, the district attorneys office said.
Bailey was arrested later that day after fleeing in a car, prosecutors said.
Bailey has several convictions for assault, burglary and parole violations, and at the time of the attack he was on probation following a conviction for another strong-arm robbery, authorities said.

The murder charge carries allegations of special circumstances, including crimes against elders.
Bailey also is charged with robbery and assault stemming from a Feb. 19 attack in Oakland during a break-in at a senior living apartment building where a 72-year-old man was robbed of his phone and other items, authorities said.
The deadly attack comes at a time of increasing assaults against Asian Americans. A woman accused of spitting on an Asian American man and yelling an ethnic slur as he dined outdoors in Silicon Valley was charged earlier this week with a misdemeanor hate crime and battery.
Oaklands Chinatown has been hit with a string of attacks and thefts in the past few months that have left the community on edge.

Or
https://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2021/02/09/update-suspect-arrested-in-oakland-chinatown-elderly-assaults/
OAKLAND (CBS SF) A suspect has been arrested in a series of assaults against elderly victims in Oaklands Chinatown, new Police Chief LeRonne Armstrong announced Monday.
The suspect was identified as Yahya Muslim, 28. He was charged with assault, battery, elder abuse and a special allegation of offenses while out on bail, according to Alameda County Sheriffs Office.
The Alameda County District Attorneys Office said Muslim also has two prior felony assault convictions.
Just minutes after being sworn in as Oaklands new top cop, Armstrong appeared at a news conference in Chinatown to announce the arrest of Muslim for the assault of a 91-year old man caught on video. He is also accused of assaulting two other elderly individuals the same day.

Looking at this, it seems like cops ARE doing their job, and everyone else in the Justice System (Courts, prosecutors, parole board) are lazy ******* who should be fired and barred for negligence.

And this can be attributed to Democrats, thanks Democrats.

A bakery that opened in the 1850s is now closing its doors for good, as today marks the last day that Loves Bakery will be in business. The institution, which has been in existence since before the overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy, could not over overcome the COVID pandemic shutting down business and tourism, and with the second round of the PPP loan initially limited to small businesses and with no help from the State legislature, they finally folded under their financial obligations.

While alcohol is still the drug of choice, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation says 47% of drivers are testing positive for marijuana, followed by amphetamines and cocaine. The Colorado State Patrol says DUI arrests involving marijuana are up 48% in the last year.

According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, the number of marijuana impaired drivers involved in deadly crashes has risen every year between 2017 and 2019, the most recent years for which data is available.

Or a literal study, if you dislike local news:
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0376871619305484

Recreational cannabis use impairs driving performance in the absence of acute intoxication

Results
Overall, cannabis users demonstrated impaired driving relative to HC participants with increased accidents, speed, and lateral movement, and reduced rule-following. Interestingly, however, when cannabis users were divided into groups based on age of onset of regular cannabis use, significant driving impairment was detected and completely localized to those with early onset (onset before age 16) relative to the late onset group (onset 16 years old). Further, covariate analyses suggest that impulsivity had a significant impact on performance differences.
Conclusions
Chronic, heavy, recreational cannabis use was associated with worse driving performance in non-intoxicated drivers, and earlier onset of use was associated with greater impairment. These results may be related to other factors associated with early exposure such as increased impulsivity.
