Why do any side quests at all?Side quests in games are *playable* content that you're actually playing, and they can have an effect on the outcome of the game (if the game is programmed for that). A line that a character says randomly after the credits has rolled and you're in free roam mode doesn't really change anything. Had no idea how anyone could enjoy the following games... played 4 (Black Flag) which was basically more like a pirate simulator and it rocked, and then played Origins and decided I wanted to learn more about this world they built, so I went back and played through the whole series. Also the whole "inventing" and "trading" mechanic was kind of convoluted; I was excited that I could collect unique items for my homestead but the way it's represented you can't even find half the shit you collected pages for. I did think it was a strong game, though.
