Leviathan's one of the espers that were added for GBA, and yeahhh you're on the right track there. IIRC though you may need to speak to some rando NPC that vaguely hints about it in order to "unlock" its appearance.

Actually another let's say uh thing you may wanna find is linked to speaking with a hinting NPC first... I can't think of much ways to vaguely lead you there so I'll just say which town you can find that hinting dude: Jidoor

The analogy I really liked about this involves a game of monopoly between two players.

Player 1 gets to take 100 turns while player 2 sits on start.

So for 100 turns player 1 is accumulating wealth and property. After this player 1 probably owns most of the board.

Then player 2 is allowed to start, and the two players take turns as normal.

And they play, taking turns, for 100 more turns. But this only widens the disparity between the two players because player 1 was holding most the cards by the time player 2 was allowed to participate. So for most of the turns player 2 is just landing on player 1's property and paying rent.

Player 2 complains this is unfair.

Player 1 says "of course it's fair, we've both been following the same rules for 100 turns now"

Even if we assume black people are being treated completely fairly now relative to white people (which is not a given) the disparity in their starting positions has still created systemic inequalities. The analogy is a bit over simplified, but it should be easy enough for all but the most obtuse to understand.

oh yeah despite his tech failures he does troll the twitters... and has been blocked by a number of figures ofc

there is... it's just nintendo's weird version of voice chat where you have to use the Nintendo App on a smartphone alongside your gaming session

it's supported by at least Splatoon 2, ARMS, Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, Mario Party, Smash, NSO S/NES games... so I'd imagine this too?

On the other hand you could say the same thing about this. I don't think any first-time player is expected to save Shadow. It really is one of those incredibly obtuse secrets that Final Fantasy likes to do a lot. But losing him as a character is a pretty huge deal and kind of upsetting to learn afterwards as a player, so I feel it's appropriate to mention it whenever someone is playing for the first time so they can avoid it.

Can't wait to mention a fun fact about this regarding an SNES script bug in WoR with Shadow rescued

but I'll save that fun fact for when we get there!
