In Shang-Chi, Banner's arm is in a sling like it's still in really bad shape from Endgame. Yet we see here that Hulk's arm is very well healed.

Also a nice catch though that when Wong takes Abomination back through a portal in Shang-Chi after their fight, in the portal you can see the cage that Blonsky's in for this trailer.

yeahhh it felt like it was already a thing but my more concrete memory of a body double was with the involvement of a bomb assassination which my mind thought was Clone Wars but looking up is Attack of the Clones... which yes I then remember Anakin becoming her bodyguard

I dunno if I've even rewatched Phantom Menace in the last two decades but my memories really start (sans droideka intro) from Tatooine. With Maul tracking the jedis who then discover Anakin. Qui-Gon talking to Shmi about his lineage, taking a midicholorian count, Ben disagreeing about training... about Anakin working as a slave for Watto, then of course the introduction of Sebulba, pod racing, and pit droids. Then the pod race itself happens and after that I lose track of the story.

I remember finding Jar Jar, going into the water to the Gungan city, and Jar Jar being reviled with gungans wanting to be left alone. My mind then just skips ahead to the jedis and Jar Jar taking a ship through the water and getting chased by a fish and from here I'm lost again.

... the rest of my memory is in complete scraps. Amidala exists and she has doubles? Is that involved in this or am I confused from the distinction of Padme and Amidala identities I dunno. All I remember of Naboo is a fight breaking out and Anakin driving in a starfighter with R2 and I believe Padme is nearby. I think this is close to the big overall battle with Naboo united with the Gungans against the droid army? With their water ball trebuchets and all that... and I guess the Maul/Qui-Gon/Kenobi fight happens around this time? Which yes I do remember with the waiting behind beam doors, Qui-Gon dying, Kenobi slipping on a ledge and force jumping back up and cutting down Maul. Then um.... there's a celebration with Naboo at the end right? Kinda similar to RotJ

I actually just opened Disney+ and skimmed through and wow I didn't realize Jar Jar's from the start whoops well anyways that's my recollection and I kinda wanna do that rewatch I've held off forever. I paused the Disney+ skim as soon as I saw it starts with Jar Jar lmao

I know I have had rewatches of AotC because of how much I kept sleeping through it so I wanted to some idea of the full movie and I still don't remember much.... maybe I'll do a "what I remember from AotC" post too

I've always talked shit about ep3 but I do recognize some great set-pieces, and Mustafar is a wild climax even if comically hilarious. Ewan McGregor does a fantastic job of just always being enjoyable.

It's definitely the movie I have the firmest recollection of, but to be fair... I was older. Phantom Menace came out when I was 7, RotS when I was 13 (oh hey same year I found B8).

Phantom Menace has the benefit of not yet coupling Anakin & Padme

far too many do not possess the sincerity to confront the homophobic logic in their mind behind those strongly repulsed emotions, the maintained perception of trans women as men, and their humiliation from being turned on by one

I don't at all take this to mandate dating trans women which is a separate world altogether: a desire for genetic children is wholly understandable (keeping in mind it's a hang-up that can get in the way of relationships with infertile cis women as well), but this tangible want is not at all a factor in a simple hook-up

my issue with maria's initial post is it just a dismissive example of confirmation bias - the need to object to a concern others have just because maria does not share that same concern. they go on to complain about methodology to "debunk" the claim, except in these counter-arguments they just use their own personal anecdotes from maria's "individual experience" with gaming and that of people they know (a friend group is not a non-biased sample)

this is because I am speaking from a position that I feel very confident that "more diversity" is not a priority for a majority of gamers, and I know this because I'm one of those gamers who doesn't care about it at all.

This line here is incredibly self-centered, to claim that one is confident on their opinion of the "majority of gamers" because of their own personal disinterest as an individual (neglecting the fact that "more diversity is a priority for a majority of gamers" was not in fact the initial claim, and coming up with that interpretation shows their own biased gut feelings on the subject). But if the supposed issue is Blizzard making a scientific claim, it's hard to take seriously and not see the deeper emotional reaction behind the objection when arguing with an even flimsier anecdote.

It's just a reactive hypocrisy to find a claim so strongly objectionable and then assert your own so weakly but with "confidence" from your own feelings. it's the same confirmation bias I see commonly from my brother who does the same thing whenever he hears something he doesn't "feel" is right which is just his based on his own preconceived notions ignorant of voices who do actually care about the subject or are sympathetic to it

truthfully though this continued discussion is just the same meaningless pedantry, it's circular and not gonna go anywhere which is where I stop my engagement and am only chiming in again because asked. my real advice is to just stop engaging, it should be clear that this page focusing so intently on "we"gate instead of the actual topic of diversity isn't worth continuing
