I was still deep in the closet in terms of being trans, and I'd never met anyone I actually felt comfortable enough to open up to about it. I don't really talk to them anymore, but there were a few people that made me feel safe enough to open up about it and I started to accept it... I eventually told CE in general about it and ended up beginning transitioning back near the end of 2013. Before I accepted myself, I was basically a run of the mill chud. I modeled myself after my dad to try and hide from myself, and he was violently homophobic, very racist, generally very hateful, etc.; that's who I convinced myself that I needed to be. If I never came to CE, I would be a much different person than I am now, and not in a good way. I'd be the kind of person I hate more than anything else. On a different note, CE has also been pretty important in other ways for me, too. It's been a social outlet, it's helped me keep up with news of various kinds, and people on here have helped me get a variety of things over the years, whether it be games, consoles, plushies, etc., and a good way to kill time in general. To portray a war where nothing is given any context at all does seem to have a political agenda of its own because reasons for conflict or disagreement DO matter; not all sides are created equally, morally or otherwise. Most of the time, there is always a "good" side, and that's important to remember.
