You might want to shell out the extra money for the 850x equivalent of that PSU. I've specifically heard of the Corsair e's sucking and being more prone to failure. Granted that might have been something weaker than the 850w PSU's that I'm remembering.

I thought water cooled PCs were more so a gimmick instead of just doing traditional fan cooling?Nah, not a gimmick, they can provide really good cooling. It really comes down to personal preference. But most water coolers are only cooling the CPU, so you still need fans in the case to cool the rest of the components. --- Steam/Xbox/PSN = NoxObscuras Z490 | i9-10900K | EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra | 32GB DDR4 3600 | 4TB SSD ... I revived her flopic, I badly need a new PC but I also need a new screen/monitor for it too. I am too lazy to build so I want to just order one, and then my mindset and that fucking stupid videocard shortage/bitcoin bs which is basically over by now for a dece one anyway.

I thought water cooled PCs were more so a gimmick instead of just doing traditional fan cooling? Not at all. Water is a better conductor of heat so it will always be better from a physics standpoint. AIO coolers are the thing to use in a gaming build as they cool better and wont block the RAM like a large tower cooler will. Not to mention, if you have a side panel window and say a Noctua NH-D15, the Noctua is all youll see as it just blocks your view of everything. They also make coolers with LCD screens that will give you CPU temp or whatever you set it to. For something like a server air is preferable as most servers dont run nearly as hard and air coolers are more reliable. The main reason to do a custom loop IMO is silence. With enough radiator surface area, you can basically run your fans at <800 RPM even at full load so you just wont hear anything while everything is kept very cool. But a custom loop comes with enough hassle as far as maintenance goes most people dont think theyre worth it. Basically any system will be silent at idle, so the only time a conventional desktop will make noise is during gaming, and the sound from the game usually drowns out the fan noise then. --- https://store.steampowered.com/wishlist/profiles/76561198052113750 ... I remember Linus Tech Tips building water cooled PCs more than once, & even despite the mistakes they were making, you have to eventually replace & empty the water sooner than you would just cleaning fans for dust & suchOne thing I forgot is that a large tower cooler like the NH-D15 can block the PCIe release lever and make it difficult to swap your graphics card without taking them out. They just get in the way in numerous ways. Custom loop maintenance depends on what your fluid is. If its a clear fluid without any dyes and it has growth inhibitors and anti corrosive agents etc., you can leave it for 5+ years no problem, and nothing should get gunked up. But dyes will eventually gum things up, and some of the, with floating particles in them are way worse about it. But the real problem with a rigid tuned custom loop is that if you want to upgrade, you have to drain the fluid out, take the tubing apart enough to get to the part, then do your upgrade (which will also probably mean a water block swap for a new GPU or CPU), then put the tubing back together and refill it. Its just not going to be worth it for most people. --- https://store.steampowered.com/wishlist/profiles/76561198052113750 ... Copied to Clipboard!
