But imagine a game that fails from a game design point of view, in terms of writing, in terms of presentation, AND is a disaster technically, not at all functional and runs like crap.

I mean, we're talking about a game where none of the buttons does anything except make your character jitter in his oscillation between two really awkward frames of animation. A game where, if you manage to hack your way into providing actual workable control, bombards you with an enemy that stands on top of you dealing contact damage, too close for you to shoot (remember, the projectiles spawn at the end of your arm cannon), and runs faster than you, so you can neither destroy it nor escape it and your only hope is to just ignore it and haul ass to the end of the level before you run out of HP.

And the one that got my pick was that game's even worse sequel. Whose title is Mega Man III even though there is no Mega Man II.

i think late stage family guy is funnier than late stage simpsons for sure

family guy is so miserably unfunny now. but at the same time there are people out there who think modern american dad is actually good and not horseshit. it clearly still has a lot of viewership and millions of views on youtube and i see it more often referred to as "cringe normie shit" or something along those lines

simpsons has sucked since season 9 or so with a few duds popping up as early as season 6 and 7 but the first seven seasons are extremely good overall

Patrick Warburton has voiced Joe Swanson on Family Guy since the shows first season 25 years ago, but the role has never exactly gotten his familys seal of approval. During a recent PaleyFest LA event celebrating Family Guys 25th anniversary (via People magazine), Warburton revealed that his parents hate the Seth MacFarlane-created animated comedy and their disdain for the show went so far that Warburtons mom once tried to get Family Guy canceled.

They hate the show even more today than they did 25 years ago, Warburton said. My father was in a monastery for three months. He almost became a monk. My mother [went] around the neighborhood when I was 13 years old passing out pamphlets on the sins of masturbation, [which] did not get me into the cool crowd. So they hate the show.

My mother belonged to the American Television Council and they were trying to get the show canceled, Warburton continued. I was helping support my parents with Family Guy money. She tried to get me to sign the petition [to cancel the show]. I said, Mom, if you dont think Im going to talk about this publicly, this is the greatest irony. Youre laundering money, youre laundering it to yourself. They hate it more today.

Family Guy features the voices of Warburton, MacFarlane, Alex Borstein, Mila Kunis and Seth Green. Kunis joined the show in its second season, while the other voice actors have been with Family Guy since its inception.

Family Guy is a show thats been running for 25 years, Warburton told People at the event. Its a cartoon. Its satire. As long as it remains relevant and current and creative, it [will] continue to go and to move.
MacFarlane shared a similar view about the shows future during an interview with the Los Angeles Times. He said he does not see a good reason to stop yet.

Its a lot of extraneous cash that you can donate to Rainforest Trust and you can still go out to dinner that night. There was a time when I thought, Its time to wrap it up. At this point, weve reached escape velocity. I dont know that theres any reason to stop at this point unless people get sick of it. Unless the numbers show that people just are, Eh, we dont care about Family Guy anymore. But that hasnt happened yet.

MacFarlane is committed to saving and honoring the art form from its earliest days forward. Hes been fascinated by animation since childhood when he began drawing. Hes also an animation alum of Rhode Island School of Design. This year MacFarlanes The Family Guy is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Im so grateful to Seth MacFarlane for his enthusiasm and his support on these restorations, said Martin Scorsese in a statement. What an astonishing experience, to see these remarkable pictures that I experienced for the first time as a child brought back to their full glory. Imagine the reactions of children today! Because the films now seem as fresh as they did when they were newly made.

Nine animated pics from Max and Dave Fleischer, who created Betty Boop and Koko the Clown, are among the pieces that are being restored. MacFarlane is a jazz music aficionado and The Great American Songbook, so the Fleischer Brothers noted use of jazz in their soundtracks, including collaborations with Cab Calloway, Louis Armstrong, and Don Redman, are a big reason why the Fleischers work is represented in this restoration collection.

The work Martin Scorsese and his Film Foundation have been doing is essential cinematic preservation, said MacFarlane. Im honored to partner with them in restoring their first-ever collection of storied animation.

Family Guy is 22 seasons in and it doesnt look like Seth MacFarlane has any plans to end the beloved animates series anytime soon.

Family Guy premiered in 1999 on Fox, but was initially canceled after just two seasons, and then scored a third season before being nixed for good or so viewers thought. Thanks to reruns on Cartoon Network and DVD sales, the series was revived and became a massive success.

Season four of Family Guy debuted in 2005 on Fox, where it has continued to air every year until its current 22nd season.

MacFarlane voices the characters Peter Griffin, Brian Griffin, Stewie Griffin and Glenn Quagmire; with Seth Green as Chris Griffin and Neil Godman; Alex Borstein voicing Lois Griffin, Tricia Takanawa, Loretta Brown and Barbara Pewterschmidt; and Mila Kunis as Meg Griffin.

In November 2022, as the animated show reached its 400-episode milestone, MacFarlane revealed his all-time favorite episode to The Hollywood Reporter.
