GANON1025 09/03/18 3:16:28 PM #306 | So the soundtrack in the version I'm playing now ( I don't remember if this PS3 patch changes the music or not), is this the exact same soundtrack that was in the original? Or are these updated/remixed versions? Either way it's pretty great. --- |

GANON1025 09/02/18 3:57:05 PM #305 | Beatrice's voice actress is doing a really good job of showing the range of her emotions. I think the character would not be nearly as good without it. I'm also glad to see Battler sticking to his guns when it comes to his feelings on Beatrice. --- |

GANON1025 09/02/18 2:39:20 PM #303 | Maria and Rosa were tortured and killed over and over by this other Eva until Beatrice intervened. I felt very sorry for Maria there. It's interesting to see how Battler is rubbing off on Beatrice, and how Beatrice might be seeing herself in a new light by watching this Eva. The connection this witch Eva has to the real one is somewhat confusing. Obviously this witch Eva doesn't "exist", and maybe Eva's nightmares and dreams about what her inner thoughts could do are being represented as visual scenes to us. I understand that concept of there being multiple explanations for the same event, the magical and the real. Still, splitting Eva into two people with two different looks is very odd. It almost seems like, the writer had this idea of Eva becoming a witch but she's too old so he had to come with this complicated inner self stuff to bullshit a way to get a younger Eva to be the witch. Vaguely creepy honestly. --- |

GANON1025 09/02/18 2:00:06 PM #302 | This also confirms to me that Battler has no control over the version of himself on the island, because he wants someone to stop Rosa but can't do anything about it. --- |

GANON1025 09/01/18 2:56:20 PM #297 | Oh, so the answer to the riddle is 'just' a room on the island with all the gold just sitting in there? I thought there'd be a bit more to it. Earlier I asked if it was possible to figure the riddle out when you first see it. Turns out it IS impossible because it requires knowledge of the island we (at least up to now) don't have. Even now, I don't actually know the real solution, I was shown where it goes. --- |

GANON1025 08/29/18 6:52:32 PM #289 | Yeah, it's a cool song. Raka_Putra posted... I really like Virgilia and her role here. Battler lost so miserably last game lol, it's nice to see that not all witches are trolls. Him having a real ally is a nice change of pace. --- |

GANON1025 08/26/18 11:03:40 PM #283 | I really liked the conversation between Battler and Virgilia here. It even touched on what I was describing before, about how people may try to explain things they don't understand as "magic". Though this conversation took a different turn, into how here multiple truths can exist at the same time. --- |

GANON1025 08/26/18 7:52:06 PM #276 | So Kumasawa turns out to be Beatrice's teacher, and the two have a truly indescribable battle. It was revealed earlier that Battler has been seeing all these magical fights, but this one in particular has broken him. What is there even to say to something like that? --- |

GANON1025 08/26/18 6:40:12 PM #274 | "There are no more than 18 humans on this Rokkenjima" This red text seems like a pretty hard counter to theory that anyone else could be the murderder. But the way this is phrased is a little suspicious. --- |

GANON1025 08/26/18 5:58:16 PM #272 | And Battler also discusses the idea of a child. Well I guess I'm glad to see I was on the right trick, though I suppose this line of thinking was a bit obvious. --- |

GANON1025 08/26/18 5:38:35 PM #268 | OK, so I theory I have is, this mansion we see in Beatrice's flashbacks is the secret mansion on he island everyone is going on about. Beatrice, the one we know, is actually the daughter of the mistress. That white-haired woman might actually be the real mistress. --- |

GANON1025 08/25/18 11:33:27 PM #265 | So Battler is now reacting to scenes that his counterpart isn't a part of. So I guess he can see everything that is going on? Or at least everything the reader sees? --- |

GANON1025 08/25/18 10:25:49 AM #264 | So the scene with everyone speculating about Kinzo having a mistress, specifically this theory that there's a secret mansion somewhere where a mistress could have lived have given me a bunch of ideas/theories of my own. Hard to really put them down into words because they are just small thoughts. --- |

GANON1025 08/23/18 11:27:33 PM #256 | I wonder if this focus on Eva means she will survive the longest? Will each episode have one of the mothers surviving until the end, which would mean Kyrie for episode 4? --- |

GANON1025 08/23/18 1:04:14 PM #253 | That beginning scene with who I assume was young Beatrice and her teacher got me thinking. Would it not be somewhat funny if it turns out that not only is Beatrice not a witch, but she also really THINKS she is a witch. Belief is power after all. Maybe the dynamics between her and Battler would change as Battler slowly starts building up proof of this while Beatrice desperately tries to argue against it. --- |

GANON1025 08/22/18 9:01:05 PM #247 | I don't want to look up the link since I might wander into spoilers. It's an intro that like starts and ends with a record playing, and shows different scenes with what looks like the PS3 sprites which I was I'm thinking it is from that version. --- |

GANON1025 08/22/18 8:50:16 PM #245 | This intro is pretty cool. Was it made for the PS3 version? The more I see of the story, the more intruiged I am by the scenes/characters I don't recognize in this intro. --- |

GANON1025 08/22/18 8:27:27 PM #243 | Oh! Yeah I forgot to mention Beatrice's speech to Shannon about men and love. It really sounds like something bad happened in Beatrice's past, possibly relating to Kinzo? I wonder if this VN will try to "pull a Fata Morgana" ( I know Umineko came out first so this turn of phrase makes no sense ) and delve into a tragic backstory for the witch at some point. --- |

GANON1025 08/21/18 10:53:55 PM #240 | I've also been toying with the idea that there is a third, or perhaps fourth layer to the narrative. The first layer is the game, playing out in Rokkenjima. The second is Battler and Beatrice in Purgatory, overseeing the game and debating over it. The third, perhaps, is the interactions between the witches. I'm not sure if this would be a real layer on its own, or just an extension of the second. The other layer is Beatrice/the witches vs. The Reader. After all, everyone has to believe in the witch's power, and that might include the reader. That is why we can see scenes like ??? or the murders in episode 2, perhaps Beatrice is playing a second game with those. --- |

Topic | Let me talk about the clothing design in Umineko *don't spoil me!!!* |
GANON1025 08/20/18 11:33:37 PM #235 | So this ??? made me think about something that's been on my mind for a while. As the reader, we are being shown scenes, like the ??? and the various demon goats / tea parties / light saber fights which seem to be obvious magic. This would make Battler's objection to it all pretty silly, sure maybe he doesn't see all this but we do. So his fight is somewhat meaningless in our eyes, since we 'know' magic is real. Who cares if Battler can explain some of these deaths through practical means, it doesn't matter since we know magic exists. I've reconciled this so far by believing Battler's fight to be more symbolic, he's trying to fight against Beatrice's power the only way he can. However, I'd like to think there's somehow a non-magical explanation to everything. This includes Lambadelta and Berkenstel. So how? You could explain away some of the stuff the characters see in episode 2 as mass hallucinations but I find that to be very unsatisfying. No, I want all that stuff to have "happened" yet not be magical. Then I think of it like this. To someone from ancient history, things like a gun would be seen as magic. Magic is just an explanation for something we can't comprehend. Maybe the same is true here. These "witches" perhaps are just people with a greater understanding of the world, and their manipulations look like magic to us only because they are so advanced. They could also be aliens for all I know as well, but I would like to think they are simply humans with some kind of advanced knowledge. --- |
Topic | Let me talk about the clothing design in Umineko *don't spoil me!!!* |
GANON1025 08/20/18 11:08:34 PM #234 | I think I don't understand how denying the witch works. Surely if you accept her once, you can't just dial it back and be like 'actually, since you're mean, just kidding, I don't believe you exist', right? Surely? --- |
Topic | Let me talk about the clothing design in Umineko *don't spoil me!!!* |
GANON1025 08/20/18 10:48:11 PM #232 | I also went through the ???. I feel like some of the events talked about here are referencing something I don't know of. --- |
Topic | Let me talk about the clothing design in Umineko *don't spoil me!!!* |
GANON1025 08/20/18 10:41:35 PM #230 | So the actions/opinions of Battler in the game are reflective of the one in Purgatory? Like when Battler in the game gave up in episode 2, that was also Battler in Purgatory surrendering as well? --- |
Topic | Let me talk about the clothing design in Umineko *don't spoil me!!!* |
GANON1025 08/20/18 10:36:07 PM #228 | That's sort of how I thought of it before, but Purgatory-Battler doesn't have actual control over his "pieces", as it were. Except for perhaps the version of himself in the game. --- |
Topic | Let me talk about the clothing design in Umineko *don't spoil me!!!* |
GANON1025 08/20/18 10:19:56 PM #226 | This does make me question something, though. I thought the Battler in the Rokkenhima 'game' and the one in Purgatory were different people? But I guess they are the same? Or at least, the actions of one can effect the other? --- |
Topic | Let me talk about the clothing design in Umineko *don't spoil me!!!* |
GANON1025 08/20/18 10:14:46 PM #225 | Yet even more unsettling things happened during the tea party. At least Battler has gotten back up again. I wonder where he found his clothes...? Even still, Battler can't explain all the locked rooms yet. At least not without implicating someone he knows, which he is against doing. So there's going to be another game. I wonder if every episode is like this, each one I different set of killings during the same time period. --- |
