a significant portion of christians want it to be like that though. christianity has come a long way in the past 10-20 years (catholicism especially), but there are still plenty of people that want to use religion as a means of discrimination and other awful shit, and those people are just as much practitioners of it as the people who don't want that

I can get a great night's sleep, wake up at 9am, and still not feel fully awake until 3pm. Yet even nights where I SHOULD be tired, I don't really get sleepy until 3am onwards. I've taken melatonin on and off, and it works pretty well for getting me sleepy, but doesn't actually make me feel much better rested the next day.

Here's the recipe I've come up with over the years.

tl;Dr version
-Saute chopped onions and garlic in some olive oil in a pot until they're golden yellow.
-Add in like a can of crushed tomatoes.
-Season with basil, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, onion powder, etc

Well first of all I never said I wanted to be the one that says something, and I even said it would 100% be my fiancee bringing it up if we did.

Second, I completely agree that she should do whatever she wants. But because weddings are weddings, I'm worried she won't do that she wants, she'll do what she thinks is expected of her at a wedding.

Like, when I was a groomsman once, I've been flat out told by a groom to shave my sideburns, which bothered me, because the whole time I assumed it wasn't a big deal. I don't want anyone in our bridal party to feel that kinda pressure because, as I said above, even if we don't bring it up to get there's always the societal expectation for her to do so on top of the expectation that comes with the culture of weddings.

TBQH it probably started because as weird as it sounds, smiling is a skill. (Or at least, smiling candidly is a skill.) If you're not naturally photogenic and aren't good at smiling, it's really hard to not look like a shlub in a photo, and having scrimpy facial hair and a questionable hairstyle makes it almost impossible.

Lots of nerds probably just noticed on their own that having this big, dorky, zany look on your face is better than trying to smile because it's a lot easier.

As more and more people did it, it just sorta snowballed into a thing now, and now people do it because they see other nerds do it.

huh? The episode was called A Problem with A Poo.....Apu. It's basically like they came up with the title and built the episode around it. There was a huge PC outrage over the stereotypes in The Simpsons in the last year or so.

It made complete sense.

I know about what it was based off of and I understood the title pun from The Problem With Apu.

I'm saying it doesn't make sense for South Park, one of the most offensive cartoons of all time, to call out The Simpsons for a character like Apu.

This just doesn't make any sense to me. Especially only 3 episodes in. Not even defending the show. That statement just doesn't make sense.

I dunno, this season so far has just felt like South Park: Color By Numbers. Almost every joke/reference that happens is so hamfisted, I see it, my brain acknowledges it with "Ah, that's supposed to be this IRL thing." and that's it. So far it just hasn't been as clever as it usually is.

I think part of what I liked about about the season long arcs was that it challenged then to actually be creative/funny on their own, while the satire was more of a bonus. Like, I think what happened, as someone said before, I think after the past couple seasons they just forgot how to do the kind of clever satire they used to do so well.
