Fate/Zero won't be officially counted in the sales for the 2nd cour, since its a continuation. Kinda like how a 24 episode series isn't counted in the 2nd cour.

It might be counted by some sites that track sales and all, but not by Oricon.

Yeah, its pretty well known. I mainly know of it because I remember on /v/ the Tales fans were constantly trolling the Final Fantasy fans since their newest game outsold XIII-2 by like 300 copies. Not really that much but anything to give the Tales fans a reason to gloat I guess.

I doubt we'll see a Tales character, as nobody cares about them. Well, nobody who matters in regards to their target. It'll be Pacman and somebody else 'iconic' and that's it.

Isn't Tales their best selling series these days in Japan? I remember hearing Xillia outsold Final Fantasy X-2 there. So people do care a lot about Tales, just not Americans... and we've seen in the past that you don't even need to be in an American released game to get into Smash.

Vita will be fine eventually I think, its just that the PSP is in a weird situation right now. Its dead everywhere outside of Japan, yet still very strong in Japan... so its kinda tough for Vita since it won't get the Japanese support it needs both gamewise and sales wise, and the lack of games for it hurts the Vita in other countries.

I think I already got Amnesia and Limbo in some other bundle, but I got this one for Bastion and Psychonauts. I'm glad i waited on Bastion when it was like 6 bucks that one time since I got Psychonauts and the soundtracks for about the same price now.

From what I remember from the welcome back thing, I think it lasts until your subscription lapses, but you can't redownload them for free later if you delete them

One question about this, since the wording confuses me a bit... if I were to get 3 months now, but I don't resubscribe right away... I wouldn't be able to use them when I get Playstation Plus again? Or does it just lock until I get it again?

I see stuff that are free downloads, but it says they are only available until Thursday... if I were to sign up for Playstation Plus now, and downloaded them, would I only be able to use them until Thursday? Or are they free for good now?

The prepromotes can be pretty good if you're playing the hacked version that lets you get all the members from the beginning of the game... IIRC Jaro actually turns out to be the best knight that way.

I don't see whats wrong with this one. I never watch movies more then once, so I see little reason to own something that has no point other then to sit on my shelf when I can just watch it on Netflix.

Kraken Battle will be when you find out if you can really finish this run or not. Even with my experience with the game I still struggle to get through that one without a few deaths.

I think this is the year the Orioles finally got over .500. Adam Jones seems to finally be reaching his potential so we have a bonafied star. The pitching should regress, but at this point if we play to preseason expectations the rest of the way, we should still be a .500 team.

I'm not big on those new concept artworks. One of the best parts of the Tales series is how its really colorful and full of fantasy stuff... and now it seems like its just doing that dark steampunk stuff I don't like. Meh, not like we'll get it since by the time they'd consider localizing it the PS3 would be dead over here anyway.

I'm pretty sure it'll be mainly new stuff, like Fairy Tail, Panty and Stocking, Tiger & Bunny, etc. To make Toonami successful they need to cater to a new and more modern audience... Playing the same shows on rerun would do nothing but appeal to people with nostalgia for a couple weeks until they get bored.

It's worth remembering that a large percentage of console owners never go online with their consoles. I doubt either Sony or MS want to give up that market.

I think that has more to do with laziness since they don't play online games than anything. The people I know that don't go online just feel its not worth it since they play single player games.

If it was forced, they'd get online.

Really? I'm surprised its not more post seeing as how its the major gaming news right now (even the poll of the day is about it).

Anyway, I don't see why people think this is far fetched. Its been rumored for a while that both Microsoft and Sony want to get rid of used games, and they do hurt their bottom line significantly... People will be pissed off, but in the end I doubt it'll get enough people to refuse to buy the systems to hurt them. People will still want to play the new games and they'll have to suck it up and accept stuff like no used games to be able to do so... Its really all up to Microsoft and Sony if they want to go this route.. especially if they both do it. Then you have no choice.

Also, 'tied to your PSN account' doesn't mean 'must be online to play.' It means it's tied to your account, online or offline, and can't be played by someone else with a different account. That point should be clarified, unless I missed a part where it said 'must be online.'

That still seeems too big a risk in my opinion. For example I don't feel that Hyperdimensia Neptunia has any collector value whatsoever (or any value at all, no offense). And for the price of $60 that was probably paid for it, you could've gotten (at least) two older games that are undeniable top shelf stuff. Or dozens of more common/less searched for 80s/90s games.

So I do feel that old has more collecting value than new. I think that's uh, obvious.

Like I said, in an ideal industry they would send you a hard copy for you to put on a shelf. But that would be it, in 50 years companies aren't gonna bother putting a UMD/Blu-ray/DVD tray just for the sake of that small minority who is still stuck in the past.

Then we look at collecting in a different way. I don't care so much about their perceived value... I collect things I like. I like to be able to feel I have a large collection of games I enjoy, and the feeling of actually owning a real thing instead of some file is much more gratifying.

If all you care about is the file, why not pirate? Its the same thing since you don't actually own the game.

Seriously I like to consider myself a collector and that boggles me a little. You should be looking for cult classics and personal favorites, not something that just came out, that you don't even know is worth a damn. Personal opinion I guess, one is allowed to collect whatever they want, but still.

In an ideal industry physical distribution would be on-demand, meaning if you so wanted you could have a hard copy sent to you. Everything else would be digital. This is what I think.

Because I like to have a collection? Why does something matter if its new or old when you have a mindset that you want to build a collection of games? I like being able to see all the games on my shelf... digital distribution doesn't give me that ability.

It'll probably upset people here but I've already preordered my physical copy of Diablo 3, too.

Well I don't mean this exactly, I mean more about how you and others say how amazing Steam is. To me Steam can never compete with physical releases unless they lower the price significantly compared to the physical release... like half price is when I'd start considering digital over physical.

I think the people that are okay with a digital distribution only model just don't understand the collector mindset. Its fine if you don't care about collecting stuff, and only having a file on your hard drive is good enough... but some of us enjoy holding the case, being able to put it on your shelf, and having the feeling of actually "owning" the game. I personally get all of the collectors editions for NISA games I buy (Atelier series, Hyperdimension Neptunia series), and I love being able to have the artbooks and posters and stuff that come with them. Having a big box to display also helps.

Its a good thing that I'm losing interest in gaming in general since its going in a direction I don't like

Maybe I'm just interpreting this in an overly optimistic way, but it sounds like Sony is trying to emulate Steam's system. I love Steam and will argue at length with anyone who thinks the traditional game pricing and distribution systems are superior for either consumers or publishers/developers, so I hope this particular rumor is true.

steam for older games and indie games is great.

Steam for a brand new game that i can have my own copy and pay the same price for (ie skyrim)? Not worth it at the moment to me.

This. I'd much rather actually own the game instead of only a file, especially if the price is the same.

If this is true, theres absolutely no reason to play short games anymore. I typically wait for used price drop or rent games I can beat in under 10-15 hours... if I have to pay full price for them, no thanks.
