Think shes definitely deaf though, wont acknowledge you unless youre in her line of sight. And I can clap my hands as loud as shit but she wont even flinch, not even an unconscious twitch of either ear.

Thanks boys n girls. Is there any truth to having to keep the litter tray and food and all her toys in one room for the first few weeks?

I'm obvs gonna keep her food tray in the living room, and put her litter tray in my bathroom - it'll always stay open or at least ajar.

Should I put everything in its permanent place at the start or have everything in one room first?

The owner even said she might be deaf in one ear, ones green and ones white. Im definitely gonna get her checked out at the vet in a couple days, checkup is free unless they start her on a vaccine course the same day.

Gonna buy some toys and crap in the morning then pick her up at lunchtime. Cant wait

It's my flat, I don't have a landlord. Legally there's nothing in my lease stopping me getting one so I'm okay on that front. Just thought I'd be a bad person keeping one cooped up in a relatively small apartment but guess that's not the case if I give it enough vertical space and playthings.

Cats like vertical space. Give the cats things to climb and perch on and their living area is much bigger. Any animal kept strictly indoors needs their environment tailored and enriched. You don't have to go crazy. If it seems like too much then maybe reconsider the commitment of a pet.

I have 3 cats in a 700 sq ft 1 bedroom. It's not ideal, but they are doing just fine with it. It's laid out well with windows and a pretty long way to run. You should play with your cat every day and that helps keep them happy and calm. Older cats also don't really care to run around nearly as much.

Any reason why you'd buy and not adopt?

Never looked into adopting. Im very specific about what I want - white kitten with pink nose, green/blue (or both) eyes. If I can get a kitten for free by adopting I wouldnt mind either tbh.

Good to know its not too small an apartment then if youve got three cats in 700ft2.
