Sure people have already mentioned it here but in theory your dream career is just a combination of your hobbies/passions and your skills.

So I was always good at maths and physics, which led me into engineering. But I also love houses and interior design, which opened up the idea of working in real estate.

So now I work for a property developer as a design manager, combining my degree and my hobby/interest.

It affects more people than most people realize.

I hear this quite a bit is there any truth to it really?

Like you hear one in four people will feel this way to some degree, like really? that's a lot of people. Like out of my family of four, I'm the 1/4? Yeah okay I can buy that but that's still a pretty high number

I dunno if it was depression but this year, after my GF broke up with me, i had no emotions for most things aswell

I mean i always loved wrestling but i went to a Raw episode, i bought the tickets for her because she loved it, and i felt nothing while watching it. I was literraly just spending time and quit because i had no desire to work where i worked. Went to Dublin and hated it.

As a former Judo fighter, wrestler, current Rugby player, metalhead it's weird how the thing that broke me was a 1.50m girl

Hmm did you ever really get over it?

Oh wow, wasn't scary at all just a bit creepy at times.

So does that mean The whole NYC part of it is fake? He's in a sort of dream state whilst he's being operated on in Vietnam? And the demons is his consciousness resisting death, then when he finally can't fight anymore they turn to angels who take him to heaven instead? And he dies more at peace?

Because if that's the case does that mean the whole Drug thing is bs? Because it happened in the NYC dream state?

Do you still care about getting to work (even if it's not exciting)? Do you actually get there & do the job?
Do you care that your GF is still with you (even though you might not be euphoric?)

Yeah I care about getting there cause I'm less than a year in so I'm still trying to make a good impression, I don't think my work is suffering but lately I feel like my manager's been second guessing me and not giving me enough room to do my own thing, unless I'm being totally paranoid

idk about my girlfriend, she's around and that's fine and everything but if she left tomorrow I'd probably be okay. She's also talking about getting married and I'm thinking I don't have enough emotion nowadays to do/buy/say nice things for you let alone propose

I'll probably just go to a doctor and say hey I feel really tired and not myself lately and slowly eke out whether they think it's depression or not

What kind of goals do you have right now, Fatal?

My only goal at the moment is getting a house though, that's either gonna be in December or June depending on what I find so I have that to look forward to, and I'm hoping I'll reset and get back to the old me. But who knows really

Part of me thought it was getting stuck in my routine. I'd get up at 5am to hit the gym, get back home and shower, get to work for 8am, and be out by 5pm. I'd normally go out for dinner, movies and whatever afterwards, and some mornings I'd "treat myself" to sleeping in if I didn't feel like going to the gym. Maybe that routine got mundane?

I feel the same way as you though cause I don't think I'm fit to be with anybody right now especially if I can't reciprocate any feelings. Ugh

idk if there's a difference between "being depressed" and "having depression" and I've always been one to be like lol self diagnosis gtfo but honestly looking at the symptoms... low mood, low energy, struggling to get out of bed, apathy, not being interested in anything like I used to be all leads me to think I'm going through some nonsense

Like my sis is getting married, I'm happy for her but then again I sayI'm happy for her. I don't actually know if I feel happy for her you know what I mean?

Or when my gf says she loves me, I can say I love you too but that's more of just going through the motions, I don't really feel much emotion.

I've been in my job 6 months now and I've lost the buzz I had when I first started, it just doesn't excite me anymore. I just clock in and clock out.

Only thing that kind of gets me excited is the new car, but even that is starting to feel a bit meh.

Everything feels pretty meh. I don't even feel particularly sad.. I just don't feel particularly anything .__.

What the hell is going on here PotD? wat i gotta do yo

tl;dr am I bored or depressed? idk

Tc when you make these rankings, have you actually seen ANY of these players play the game of basketball? Not just clips, but like whole games?

I'm like 26 years old and grew up in the backwaters of Africa you think I've seen entire 90's bulls and 80's lakers games? lol

But nah on the real I haven't, clips and highlights are all I've got - and stats more than anything.

Really if you wanna compare like for like though, Kareem has the sky hook. People shouldn't overlook the fact that it was virtually unguardable, I know it's been blocked by Wilt and a few other guys but on a day to day, you literally can't block it. There's a reason he's scored the most points all time.

Idk what Mike's go to move was but I'd be shocked if it could hold a candle to the sky hook.

you also gotta ask if they really would be the same player in today's game. Kareem and Wilt came around a time when 7 footers were rare. Bill Russell would not have won so many championships in a bigger league or as a center that's the size of most PFs now (or most PFs in the early 2000s

That's true, I've read this before - seems counterintuitive to me that we've got more 7 footers today though since I'm used to everything going "small" nowadays

When did the league start to get bigger anyway? Cause Shaq was dominant as hell in the paint, he wasn't going up against defenders much smaller than him. If Shaq could dominate you'd like to think Kareem, Wilt and Russell could

I never realised though that there were nearly half as many teams when Russell played. Which kind of puts a downer on my argument, if there were twice as much competition would Russell have had half as many rings? Would he then be on par with Michael? Possibly giving the edge to MJ?

Who knows. I'd still put Russell and Kareem over MJ, you can't argue with stats. And MJ is probably considered the goat cause he played at a time when basketball was getting more media coverage and was able to build his brand more. So more people grew up on MJ than they did bill russell and Kareem.

I'd like to hear an argument of MJ being better than those two tbqh, and MJ is arguably fourth greatest of all time when you take Wilt into consideration. You can make the argument 6 rings > 2 rings but then again 30PPG and 20RPG > 30PPG and 5rpg soo

There's so many positions though I'm wondering do you get superstar players at every single position? Or is there a few positions were most players have always just been no names/scrubs?

Like in basketball you could name multiple HOF players at each position, but I'd imagine in football you've got like 50 something players on a team, 15 positions or whatever... There must be one or two redundant positions where you always just get some no names
