| EffectAndCause 03/03/18 5:31:57 AM #1 |  There are just so many elements to it: - Jim messing with Dwight but getting away with it because hes supposed to be a client and you never know what to expect - Dwight being forced to indulge Jims absurdity because he needs to prove hes a good salesman - Michael slowly forgetting that its Jim and he begins to scold Dwight as if hes talking to a real client - Jim messing with Dwight even further by immediately offering to buy 1 million dollars worth of paper from Michael even though Michael did literally nothing to sell it - Dwight AND Michael now forgetting that its Jim and thinking Michael is the man for being that amazing of a salesman - Michael and Dwight acting as if theyre in a real situation of choosing between Dwights career or a million dollar sale - And finally, Michael covering the phone to whisper to Dwight even though Jim (who isnt a real client) is sitting right next to them...and choosing the million dollars over Dwight ALL of these elements on their own are absolutely fucking hysterical, and its all combined into a single 2 and a half minute scene. Im a writer and I can only dream of writing comedy this masterful. --- |
