Heck they probably could release a SNES Mini 2 with just a different set of games and people would buy it again lol.

tbf the SNES has a shitton of good games, especially if they decided to officially translate some Japanese ones. If nothing else, Japan at least could easily get a SNES Mini 2.

Yeah I've been through that ... not necessarily FKS. Just, my mom decided to punish one of our cats for peeing on the floor by throwing him outside in the snow. My sister and I tried to get her to renege on it because that's just cruel as a response, we even went behind her back and let him in for a while to at least warm up...probably would've defied her altogether if my mom didn't have a history of being violent and all.

He was dead by morning, something with his heart. I've still never forgiven the bitch for that, I loved the hell out of that cat. I was crying pretty much the entire way to school that day and several times during when I could avoid making a scene ... still fucked up about it.

... I could go on about a couple of other cats that died but I don't want to be an attention whore.

Just... I understand where you're coming from TC, I know it hurts a lot. *hug*

As a more explicit example, more likely than not, if you found five random threads on politics on this board and posted "this topic is now about [X]" you will probably be modded for disruptive posting. Not off-topic, however, since you can't mark posts for off-topic on this board (no topicality).

i've tried literally exactly your suggestion, but it doesnt work. a mod said that "CE has no topicality" when i asked about this type of disruptive posting, so on CE disruptive posting is explicitly allowed now.

Hellhole has no topicality and that's what I got modded for.

"Topicality" refers to what the board is about. In that sense, bitching about politics in a thread you make on the, say, Tekken 7 board without correlating it to the game somehow would be "off-topic."

"Derailment" (which would fall under Disruptive Posting as opposed to Off-Topic) would be literally and deliberately changing the subject in a thread. For example, my moderation was for posting in some thread about some rando complaining an obvious "fair, next" moderation by saying in the second post "this thread is now about ice cream," or something of the sort.

This is further emphasized by how only the OPs of topics can be marked for off-topic on a board that has topicality.

In short, not all boards have "topicality" in the sense of the topic of the thread. However, all threads have potential to be derailed intentionally, which isn't "off-topic" as far as the rules/mods care as much as "disruptive posting."

Which seems a dumb distinction but it is what it is

it used to apply on CE. for instance, if I made a topic about the Avengers, and then some trolls came in and started talking about politics, they would get modded for off-topic posting. It was one of the rules that made sense, but they stopped enforcing it in favor of becoming babyfaqs

That would just get modded for Disruptive Posting now. Mark it as Disruptive and include in the notes that they're deliberately derailing the topic

The more likely answer is, since they're abandoned accounts, the passwords are probably easily crackable. LUE-accessible and space accounts might be worth something but I doubt it's a market so much as a few people selling to each other.

Occam's Razor: this involves the least assumptions, so until someone pins down where the market is for old accounts (both who is selling and where and why), this is the most reasonable assumption.

Of course, high Karma + no AMP doesn't mean anything on its own. Someone could go inactive for months for genuine reasons.
