Characters being well-written is kind of a general hope that everyone should have for all the characters in their media of choice. So making that a specific request when it comes to LGBT characters sounds suspect. After all, regardless of whether the characters are well-written or not, there's no problem with having LGBT characters in a game or any other kind of media. As for me... well, I've never really paid attention to LGBT representation in games, mostly out of a mentality of "I'm just here to play my damn game and have fun." I'm certainly for it though, I just want characters well-written since narrative often contributes to how I enjoy a game. A character shoved in for the sake of meeting some "LGBT quota" not only feels like pandering, but more importantly kinda limits the character to being defined by their gender or sexuality. That in turn makes them pretty one-dimensional in my eyes. So long as the character is written well though, I'm cool with it. Because at the end of the day I'm here to play and enjoy a game, not fret over who's gay or whatever. Kinda superficial and selfish when I think of it like that but eh.
