Disney Dreamlight Valley EA (Oh my god I found a Life Sim I enjoy! Lighthearted Life Sim, PC via Gamepass)

Damn this is impressive. So much fun hanging out with all of these likable chracters and helping them out. I also found it interesting how the game managed to make me like everyone despite the fact that I haven't seen most of these movies like Tangled, Moana, and Frozen.

I did the Mother Gothel main quest, which from what I can tell is the final main quest for this part of the Early Access, so I'm considering this complete for the moment.

New Super Mario Land(Good OG Gameboy SMLand fan remake, SNES)

This a rather impressive remake. It's mostly just recreates the levels, with the DS New Super Mario Bros elements and it does a good job! Koopas explode, the fire flower ability works like it does in Super Mario Land. You you get to wall jump, and the bosses are similar to they are in the gameboy Super Mario Land. Man is it fun fighting all of these bosses with much better quality music and visuals! It's basically mildly blurry 3d with clear music.

This does need to be said however, Tatanga, the last boss looks so bland!

And with that I've made up for lost time, yay!

Sorry that I sorta fell off the last couple days. I got addicted to Disney Dreamlight Valley, and my mom came to visit for a week, I'm about to play something in a bit.

Onimusha: Warlords(Amazing Action-Horror game, Ps2)

2 hours in, and dear god is this game blowing me away.

Near the end of the game: I'm still having a really good time. Nothing is really impacting me emotionally perse, but I love the atmosphere of this game. Combat is pretty fun too, and I'm glad that combat is quick, and you don't fight more then 2 or 3 enemies at once so it doesn't wear out its welcome. I also like how it switches the perspective back and forther between the MC, and another character, and the other character is a badass woman too!

Even closer to the end: WOw, the music is so damn good in this too.

Even further: Oh great, they pointlessly fridged the girl you get to play as, it's not like the MC wasn't already taking things seriously!

At the end: Ok, so she just needed to rest, and she came back and helped the kids you trying to save escape. That was a really great ending, even if I didn't understand a lot of it. Just really really dug the atmosphere. Totally earns an easy recommend in my book.

I'd call this game sort of a mix between Resident Evil and DMC. Not really a very scary horror game, and the combat is nowhere near as fun as DMC1, but it still felt so god damn good to lose myself in its world for a few hours!

Again, easy recommend!

I was so excited to find out that this exists that I just had to play it. And yeah, it's basically the same game with alternate sounding music. I probably prefer the original music but the music is still pretty good!

On a side note, the video that showed me this games existence showed me this weird interesting take on super mario bros 2 Japan that reminded me a lot of Chip N Dales Rescue Rangers.

(Great 2021 Genesis isometric parody shooter.)

WOw, I did not expect this to be this good! It's a legit game made in 2021 that's a parody of a lot of games and movies of the 80's and 90's. Wasn't laugh out loud funny most of the time, but it was always entertaining. This is an easy recommend!

Legend of Mystical Ninja

(Great SNES Action RPG)

First of all, I wanna thank @Firewood18 for recommending this game, as a playthrough is long overdue. Been at least 2 or 3 years since I've played this. It's an absolute classic, and is so much fun.

Something I don't about this game is how it starts though. You get told by your friend that a woman is attacking anyone that hits on her, and all I can think of is how insanely willfully ignorant japan is on consent, and the reaction to a woman fighting people that likely creep on her is to go kick her ass. The fact that she's a ghost feels like such a cheap excuse to bypass this. Seriously not cool game! And then you find out that the ghost thing is a disguse and it's a cat person that's been waiting for someone to kick her ass...again, really not helping! This really dates this game by a lot!

Anyways, outside of that, the game is a lot of fun, and I enjoyed playing it with someone I know on fightcade!

Death Road to Canada

Again, as soon as I've beaten a game for a day, feel free to recommend something that might take 2-3 days to beat, I'll probably finish it faster than you think.

Also, you'd be amazed what indie game, fangame, or mod that I haven't beaten, so go ahead and recommend whatever.

What are these on? and if they're mods or fangames, what are they mods or fangames for?

So I've been wanting to beat a game a day for a long time, and I feel like I kinda finally am at this point, as I've played 30 games this month and it's making me happy.

I think it's working for me now because I'm not overthinking it, and I'm playing all sorts of games, not just mostly SNES games, so it feels sorta spontaneous. And I've been playing a lot of fangames.

Like I said, I think I wanna continue doing this.

I'm still willing to consider recommendations, but instead of giving a big list, can you recommend no more than 3 at a time. I think I'd enjoy it more if I just see the game recommended, and spontaneously choose to play something that I just see recommended.

Know that I'm a lot more likely to play it if it's a fangame, or an indie game. This also can include Skyrim quest mods, or a quest or campaign mod for several other games. I mostly play action games, and adventure games.

Edit: Oh, and if it's not on the PC, please make it a little easier on me, and tell me what system it's on. And if it's a fangame, or mod, please tell me what it's a fangame or mod for.

I remember seeing a youtuber play the demo of a strategy game that greatly reminded me of the GC/Wii era Fire Emblem games (Tellius, I mispelled originally, being the world they take place in)

Oh, yeah, haven't played Any RPGS on the GC or Wii. Barely played anything on them. Not really big on nintendo outside of the SNES and Switch era.

Batora: Lost Haven 10/22: Story Rich Action adventure RPG. Once again, the game looks so beautiful! Please please let this be good! So hope this ends up being one of my favorite games of the year!

9 Years of Shadows 10/10: A very long in development Metroidvania. Not a fan of the art style at all, but it does look like fun if you can get past that. Sure hope that it's good!

Persona 5 Royal: This is coming to the Switch and PC, Not my thing, but I know that this is going to make a lot of people very happy, and I'm happy for them!

Lost Eidolons: PC exclusive. I played the Demo for this a few months ago, and it's one of my most anticipated games, and I'm so glad that it's coming out this year. I like to think of this as a Fire Emblem game with the BS that I don't like from them cut out. It's got a super compelling cast, and the combat is so much fun! Please, please let this be great Ocean Drive Studio!

The Last Oricu. On everything besides the the Switch, PS4, and Xbone. I played this demo, and I was super impressed. It has huge Star Wars: KOTOR 2 vibes, and it's one of those games where a lot of your choices really really do make a huge difference. It's also Sci-fi with a lot of medievil elements.

Asterigos: Curse of the Stars: On everything but the Switch. I covered this in my promising indie games of October. Published by tinyBuild, who puts out a lot of really great middle budget games. It's s souls-lite(not to be confused with Souls-Likes) heavily based on greek Mythology

Gotham Knights: On PC, PS5, and Xbox. It's the next Batman game, only there's no Batman. Sure hope it's good!

Star Ocean: The Divine Force On everything but the Switch. Yeah, it's the next Star Ocean game. I think that these are terrible games, but if they make you happy, go play this and be happy.

Original Sin 2. It definitely is overwhelming at first, but I legitimately started enjoying it after I was about three hours in.

I've probably put about 15 hours into it, it's so damn overwhelming, and I don't enjoy the way everyone looks and talks at all!

Thankfully Baldur's Gate 3 seems more back on track.

Super Mario World: Chaotic Adventure

(Great Super Mario Kart Fangame, Like an Arrange mode of the original game, SNES)

Really was glad to play this after the disaster that was Mario's Grand Adventure 2. Don't have much to say about it, other than that it was really fun and absolutely worth my time, and I implore other Super Mario World fans that still love playing the game like crazy to take a break from replaying the OG game for the zillionth time, and give stuff like this a shot!

I used this for a walkthough, dear god was it invaluable! most levels weren't harder than the original, in fact all of the castles were a lot easier, but finding out how to unlock areas without looking it up, dear god am I grateful that I didn't have to figure it out myself!

Also, even following the walkthrough, eI don't understand how to unlock the blue switch palace!

I should get back to playing Yoshi's Strange Quest. Gameplay is an interesting combination of Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island.

I looked this up, It sounds really interesting:

This is the sequel to Mario's Strange Quest. Picking up where Mario's Strange Quest left off, it turns out that the part where Yoshi's eggs hatched at the end of MSQ didn't actually happen. What really happened after Mario beat Bowser, rescued Yoshi's eggs, and saved the princess was that Yoshi and his sleepy friend decided to move to a new land so that he can protect his eggs from Bowser before they really hatched. So, both Yoshis do so and they find themselves in the land of Weirdonia. However, it seems that Bowser apparently insists on stealing Yoshi's eggs, since Yoshi's eggs were stolen again while Yoshi was out shopping. Since Mario isn't around to help this time, Yoshi goes on a quest by himself to retrieve his eggs. However, just like Mario's Strange Quest, this isn't your ordinary quest. The land of Weirdonia is a strange land filled with bizarre gimmicks, weird themes, and possibly jelly filled donuts and pizza. Expect the unexpected during Yoshi's journey.

Super Luigi Star Powered is either way too damn hard, or glitched, because the first optional fight sends you to a boss that kills you right away, and the first optional fight kills you if you don't dodge every attack, and if it's hard right away...yeah, really hoping that I encountered a glitch. Although the fact that I can't find an even remotely competent video walkthrough for it certainly is troubling!

Moving on...

This is Super Retro Kart

It's a fangame for Super Mario Kart. It's got characters from all over, like Ness, Chun-Li, and Ronald MCDonald, who is called Retro Man. I beat the easiest mode in the game with Ness, and had a real good time!

Zelda 2: Triforce of Courage

It's an interesting fangame. It's harder than the original, especially early on. Enemies have more hp, and do more damage, and it costs more exp to level, but each level up does a lot more, especially with your sword. You get a few levels in your sword, and the game becomes a LOT easier. When you got near max on every stat, and yeah, you feel like powerhouse!

Anyways, it's got a completely different overworld, and the dungeons are reworked a lot. The worst mazes in this game, like Death Moutain and the final dungeon are merifully less mazelike, and thank god for that, especially the final dungeon.

But the best thing about this game. The Shield spell also casts the fire spell, and the reflect spell. And let me tell you, I have been really underrating the Reflect spell. It lets your shield block every single projectile in the game, which is just insane!

I think that this is now my preferred way to play the game.

I decided to give it a shot. Played it for about 40 minutes. On one hand there's an easy mod, and I'm very grateful for that.

On the other I wasn't immersed for a moment, and if I'm not immersed, what's the point?

The game desperately needs better music and sound effects.
