I played Final Fantasy 2 on Android (Comes free with Final Fantasy Portal) and all it did was re-affirm my belief that most games don't work with touch screen controls. I mean battles and menus were fine, but actually waking around and talking to people was horrible.

I am weird in that I love Final Fantasy 2, but I honestly haven't played the Android version for more then 10-15 minutes.

My dad had the option to name me after himself or one of my ancestors. He chose my great grandfather because "I lived with my name all my life, I am not putting my son through that". It is a good philosophy to have, even if you don't get bullied over it just having to explain it to everyone you meet is enough to convince me to keep the name simple and somewhat common.

That turned into a 30 minute round of questioning which ultimately ended with me saying "You are either OK with me looking at porn or you are a control freak and I don't want to have anything to do with you, pick one." You buy Nintendo consoles for the exclusives, not the multi-plats. Multi-plats are better getting on PC anyways because you can do so much more customization with them there. With the exception of Virtual Boy, N64, and maybe the launch price for the Wii U, the price of a Nintendo console/handheld is pretty much always justified for the games you get.

I only have 4 games on my Switch right now, but considering I have put almost 300 hours into Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and I haven't even started New Game + yet (which will add another 100+ hours) it has been well worth the investment. Even the Mario Odyssey and Pokemon Let's Go games are incredibly fun. Once Smash comes out, that's another game I am going to sink hundreds of hours into.

I was using the NES controllers that came with my system up until it died. The controllers still work, but they are pretty banged up from 30 years of usage. I did get a turbo controller for my SNES in addition to the ones that came with the system. It still worked when I sold my SNES off.

I was an only child and I took care of my video game systems so never needed anymore (unlike my toys, I usually broke them pretty easily).

In this day and age you shouldn't be pitching yourself, people should seek you out. Tell him to self publish some of his work and see if he gets any bites from people looking to give him a chance on something bigger. If not at least he can make some coin off of his self-published stuff.

I have one outlet in my house where if I put an LED in it, it spazes like hell and becomes a strobe light. Put a spiral or regular bulb in there and it is fine.

Doing math in your head is kind of pointless nowadays, that is what calculators are for. I mean yea you should know your addition and multiplication tables and what those systems actually do, but getting into long addition/multiplication can all be done quicker by computers. It is like trying to teach handwriting, everything is done on keyboards anyways so what is the point?

Take the effort you would use to teach the basics and apply it to doing more complex problems. Kids should be doing differential equations by the time they reach middle school.

Unplayable implies I can't do anything in the game without it crashing or corrupting my save file. Or there are certain objectives that never show up no matter how many times I reload.

Unplayable does not mean weird physics issues with things flying in the air and funny glitches that make great YouTube videos. Yea, they should probably fix those, but it doesn't stop me from moving on and enjoying the game.

I mean I am as hardcore a PC gamer as they come, but even I will concede that Morrowind and the Elder Scrolls series in general wouldn't be half as popular as it is today if it weren't for the XBox port of Morrowind. Doesn't matter what version you played (all the games I listed above I played on PC as well), the games being on XBox was a benefit to both console gaming and PC gaming.

Well, if you spent hundreds and hundreds of hours mastering one character's moves how pissed would you be if they changed in the next game and you had to do it all over again? That is why people say that with fighting games, you can add new stuff but you should never change or remove existing stuff. It works for other genres, but not fighting games.

Anyways, I love Ganondorf, unlike a lot of characters you have to be really strategic with him because he is so slow compared to the rest of the roster. However, it only takes a few successful moves to KO a character because his moves are so devastating.

Captain Falcon plays completely different. He has the same move set, but is a lot faster (and hits a lot weaker). To compare it to Street Fighter, it is like trying to play Ryu vs. Akuma. Similar moveset, but way different strategies.

You know, a lot of this would have resolved if Bethesda just called Fallout 76 an early access game. Yea, that has a negative connotation as well, but at least people know when you buy an early access game that you are getting an unfinished product with the assumption that it will be finished in the future.

That said, I never owned an XBox because they basically are just an introductory PC for people who don't feel like spending time building their own machine or spending money on a pre-built one. On the whole they were pretty crap (even the Dreamcast, although the games are of higher quality then that of the Saturn).

Started posting on PotD in late 2005 (around August I believe). Before that I was a Board 8er, and before that I mostly only posted on game forums for whatever I was playing at the time. It was very sporadic (hence why my Karma is relatively low compared to my account start date.

I started posting more because it was an easy thing to do at work while I was waiting for stuff to compile or tests to run.

One of the most difficult things I found with Python is just learning the Standard Library, IDE's help with that without needing to keep a web page open at the same time.

IMO, their best songs are the ones that weren't singles and radio hits. Sheer Heart Attack (album, not song, though the song is good too), has a lot of great tracks that never get played on the air.

Their first two albums are also really good. Rumor is that they were a "soundtrack" of sorts for a fantasy novel that Freddy Mercury was thinking of writing but never got around to doing.

I had a lot of fond memories from 2011: Deus Ex Human Revolution, L.A. Noire, Skyrim, Portal 2, Battlefield 3 (don't knock it, it is fun with a group of friends), Saint's Row the Third, etc. Hell, there were even some great games released in the other years that you mentioned. Just don't go by what the mainstream thinks is "good".

Conversely the 2013 version (which includes the 93 version) is only $10. Although Flashback was kind of a mediocre game anyways. Just play Out of this World (which has numerous re-releases) or Blackthorne (which is free with a Battle.net account) instead if you want that style of game.
