Incompatible Host (Peacetime) - Sometimes even a great bromance needs space. During Peacetime, Venom may declare this ability to KO himself for the week's fight. In exchange, an allied merc of 3 or less of his choosing will battle wearing the Venom symbiote with all powers shown in Venom. However, as lesser hosts are not as compatible with alien goo as Eddie, the chosen merc (as well as Venom) will automatically be KOed 10 seconds after meeting the other team.

Tried to make that reasonable, since even 10 seconds of Venom in Low is going to be messy

Eddie Brock is as he appears in Venom, wearing the Venom symbiote with all shown abilities (no comic feats). Eddie and Venom must both be defeated for them to be eliminated.

Lethal Protector (Peacetime/Trigger) - If there's one thing Venom hates, it's an evil doer who doesn't know when to stop. Each week during Peacetime, Venom may declare one allied merc on his team to be under his protection. During that week's Wartime, any Villainous enemy abilities targeting that merc will be met by an appropriate reprisal; the first ability used will result in the offending enemy battling that day without either of their arms. The second ability used will result in the enemy battling without arms or legs. The third ability used will result in Venom saying fuck it and biting their head off for a KO. If any of these results are reached, Lethal Protector will go on recharge for two weeks.

WE ARE VENOM! (Trigger) - While there may technically be nothing keeping Venom from finding another host if Eddie dies, gosh darn it, they're both losers and they're in this together. Should any KO ability land on Venom, there will be a 50/50 roll to determine if the KO strikes Eddie or the symbiote. If the symbiote takes the hit, the KO will proceed as normal. If Eddie takes the hit, Venom will still be rosterable that day; however, Eddie will begin the battle dead in the center of the terrain, the symbiote will start with his teammates, and Eddie can only be revived by Venom returning to him.

That feels like one of those fights that could be luck of the draw. Or rather luck of "Where do these guys end up meeting." Golbez probably wins if they run into each other in an area where he can keep control stations and stuff between them. Heihachi wins if they wind up in a tunnel or something where he can rush him

On a random note, it seems they made Quiet a playable character in MGS5, in case anyone wanted a better gauge on her besides a boss fight and some ridiculous cutscenes. She's very fast, she can jump straight up ladders instead of climbing them. She auto-cloaks when standing still

I am taking this assessment mainly from the story mode of Arena. Which I dug a whole hell of a lot. The P4 cast's defining trait was "We will follow Yu into the depths of hell if we gotta, he a Bro Elemental"

Again I'm not familiar with the Gaiden cast, but give Yu basically anyone else from P4 and I have a real hard time seeing him lose. Dude is a born leader, he wouldn't let his friend be hurt

Viki is as she appears in Suikoden 2 with all abilities of the Blinking Rune.

Achoo! (Trigger) - As powerful as Viki is, her control is lacking. As such, should Viki's owner roster her, she will sneeze after rosters are chosen, removing herself from the fight. A random merc equal to her upkeep (or the next lesser upkeep if not applicable) from the opposing team will also be removed, and the battle will commence with both teams fielding their remaining chosen mercs.

Preselect the enemy merc of equal upkeep Viki removes.

New Ability

Victory Banquet (Results) - As it happens, the army Viki sides with always manages to win. She never gets to celebrate though as her pesky sneezing habit kicks in. Should her team win a match in a week where she was rostered and removed via Achoo, she may also use this ability. Viki will be removed from her team, joining a team of her owner's choosing, who will have to pay her upkeep the following week. In addition, Viki will automatically force herself into a roster slot that week on her new team, at which point she will use Achoo, disappear and reemerge on her original team in Results.

Might be mentally flipping them around, yeah. I imagine in practicality, anyone given a choice of Suikoden 1/2 characters would probably roll with Georg Prime/Viktor/Luc and then whatever grab bag you like of the good characters

...I actually like the idea of the Suikoden scrubs getting to team up. Though Tir/Riou are probably 3s on their own. Tir was in a previous game, people liked him well enough

Riou's trickier, since if I remember half of his moves in S2 are instadeath. Those aren't allowed
