The problem is we have many organizations incentivized to attribute deaths to covid-19, including hospitals who receive extra aid money/disbursement for coronavirus patients. Since many hospitals have been forced to cut back on elective surgeries, which gives them most of their profits, they need to get as much money as they can. You might have read about all the hospitals going bankrupt.
