It's very rare to get an explanation for topic closures. And of course, they can't be contested, so while only the mods involved (and other staff that can see it, if applicable) know for sure what happened here, it's at least fully possible within how the system works for a mod to get annoyed about their moderation getting overturned so they close the topic (at which point that's generally "end of the line", and even if there was nothing whatsoever wrong with the original topic, re-creating it at this point is a violation because of a specific "don't remake moderated topics" rule).

Thanks for the explanation. I guess its possible the mod just got his fee fees hurt so decided to close it anyway. Unless some mod actually wants to divulge what happened, thats what it looks like.
