Nah, Dead Rising's timer forces you to play the game certain ways when it comes to efficient play so you don't miss out on anything. A sandbox like survival horror game is no fun if you are constantly on a clock.

It's not a survival horror game. The zombies aren't really a threat to the player.

It's seriously easy to adjust it so it actually removes any complaint people have about it.

You're always leveling up in the games. You're not wasting time by ignoring the timer and doing you're own thing. Just make it so you can easily swap between Story Mode and Sandbox mode whenever you want. Stuck at a boss? Switch to Sandbox mode and level up for a bit and try again. Want to take a break and muck around? Switch to Sandbox mode. This is basically what DR2 OTR did but it was never revisited again which is a shame.

Worried about messing up your Story mode and having to start again? Simple. You have the option to start at the beginning of any Case you've progressed to. Your level progress carries over. At most you're losing like 15 minutes of mission progress. Hard Mode removes this option.

If these still aren't enough then it's pretty obvious you just aren't interested in the game. Which is okay. There's plenty of other open world zombie games out there.

It's the only way to have events actually happen during the course of a few days in a video game. Otherwise the world is static and does nothing until the player progresses. Which is literally every other open world game now.

There's plenty of ways to make that system work and be flexible to the player without throwing it out completely. Options to go back to certain times at any point for example.

Dead Rising works more like a schedule than a timer anyway. Not really sure if everyone even understood that.

Honestly I think they shouldn't overthink things and go back to their old schlock of Fahrenheit and Heavy Rain. You play as a bunch of characters in the prequel era and can make typical narrative choices.

Quantic Dream are all flash with no substance but they actually can make a pretty good narrative game when it comes to branching paths, different endings and giving their games a sense of spectacle and scale. So Star Wars isn't the worst fit for them really.

Of course this is also ignoring their trashy work culture.

I feel like I've been seeing this rumor on and off since the Bethesda purchase.

There wasn't a single insider who gave hints at the Bethesda purchase. So chances are whenever this does happen it'll also be announced out of nowhere.

Companies like Take Two and Activision are also listed publically. No way would those leak out to a random bunch of video game personalities. Bethesda was privately owned. I don't think Microsoft has actually bought a publically listed game company so far.

Only for people who literally only play on PlayStation.

If a sequel happens you could play the game over streaming. There's PC. There's the cheaper Series S. Xbox makes it rather easy to play their games. If a Deathloop 2 happens it'll also probably be near the end of the generation too so hardware is probably more affordable.

If someone is stubborn to the point where they won't even play a game on a platform they own because there might be a sequel that would still be rather accessible regardless then that's on them really.

Yeah this sounds like the plot to a pretty cool movie.

Although the backstory of his wife and son being murdered is a bit too dark. Maybe change that to a workaholic Dad who regrets not spending enough time with his son.

I love that it exists but I don't think I could play through an interactive autobiography of parents raising and caring for a toddler who is diagnosed with cancer who sadly dies from it 4 years later. I think I'd be bawling through the entire game.

I can handle almost anything else because it's fictional. But this one is real. My Mum died from cancer and I can overall process that okay but the thought of toddlers and kids going through that just depresses me way too much. It's horrible and it just isn't fair.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is honestly the most shocking one to me. I didn't know that game was so popular.

It ended up losing to Dark Souls but not by much. Dark Souls won with 54%.

Looking at the results so far it's looking like final is gonna be COD4/Witcher 3 vs GTAV/TLOU. Dunno which ones will win the semi-finals.

The listen counts overall are pretty high but MEGALOVANIA is still crazy huge compared to the rest of it. The 2nd highest listened song is Fallen Down at 28.5 million. Not sure why that one specifically is second highest actually.

Yeah the emotional height was definitely the reunion of the OG Psychonauts after dealing with all their trauma.

All of that was just done so well. I loved the symbolism of Boole's harshest critics being puppets that he was controlling. What a smart way to visualize something we've all done to ourselves.

In 2019, Mohamed Noor was convicted of third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in the death of Justine Damond (nee Ruszczyk), a dual US-Australian citizen who had called 911 to report a possible sexual assault behind her home. Noor was sentenced to 12 and a half years on the murder count but was not sentenced for manslaughter.

This week's ruling means his murder conviction has been overturned and the case will now go back to the district court, where he will be sentenced on the manslaughter count.
Noor has already served more than 28 months of his murder sentence. If sentenced to the presumptive four years for manslaughter, he could be eligible for supervised release around the end of this year.
