Again, he isn't being censored. He isn't being booted from the internet because of his views, horrid as they are. He's being shut down because he crossed many lines of a variety different company's ToS. That simple.

Some of you are acting like Alex Jones fell out of the sky 2 days ago, and that all these media groups got together to squelch him. He's been on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc. since they've basically existed. It shouldn't be a hard concept to grasp that he went to far. You might as well not have a ToS if the shit AJ pulls isn't enough to get banned.

But Alex Jones isn't joking. He's had to admit he's a character actor, yes, but that doesn't say if he believes what he spews or not. No one really knows. And his entire show and persona only "works" by everyone believing it and taking it straight faced. Satire is satire because you can distinguish between the lines, between the spoof and the reality. There never has been for Infowars. It isn't satire. It isn't presented as such, nor consumed as such.

Yes, I would. When TYT smashes through a platform's ToS and starts harassing school shooting victims, take them down. BTW, it took me a second even understand what "TYT" meant, as I don't watch the show. Boy, that blew up in your face, didn't it? The tax subsidies argument is laughable. ALL big corporations gets some for of tax subsidy, write-off, or otherwise deal, and yet I don't expect to roll up to Exxon Mobile and get free gas. So please people, cut that shit argument. It's not a public service, utility, or entity. Just because Facebook and the like are very popular, doesn't mean they owe YOU, or the people, shit. Facebook could close it's doors tomorrow for the lulz, and there'd be shit all anyone can do about it.

It wasn't just Youtube, he was basically purged from the internet. Apple, Spotify, Twitch, damn near everything has yanked his stuff recently.

The only thing I'd entertain people being concerned about is the uneven enforcement of this (i.e., Alex Jones certainly isn't the only one violating Youtube's ToS), but the counter argument to that is that the sheer pervasiveness and viciousness of Jones' hate makes him a unique case.

And the gatekeepers are always going to be scattershot with how they enforce this stuff. Really, Trump should have been banned from Twitter forever ago, since he's violated basically ever clause in their ToS, but yet here we are.
