After a series of months, my girlfriend was straight up doing her work and her coworker's work. This eventually made its way to their mutual boss, who had been accustomed to the good work (again, girlfriend doing both), and fired her because she ultimately stopped doing said coworker's work. Lot more to it than that, but that's ultimately what it boiled down to. tldr NEVER stick up for anyone at work. As long as you were a good employee and communicated your PTO with your coworkers and managers, you are guilt free. Once you accept the surveillance state reality, you won't worry about it anymore. Simple as that. Acknowledge there is no way to fight it and you'll stop worrying about it. Worked great for me. No more fighting with VPNs and weird browsers and random email services. Not to mention saving money on those services that have costs associated. When someone sends me a file via chat, and I click "download," it doesn't just open the file explorer and ask where I want to save it to. It just prompts a "downloaded" notification in the bottom right corner, but when I click on it, it just disappears. So I click on "files" in teams and it has some older files I've downloaded, but not the one I just downloaded. I have to download it two or three times and eventually the notification works (and opens my "downloads" folder, so I still have to move the file manually). Very annoying. --- Cupcake |

Yes and no. Yes, we're all a bunch of old people sticking around more out of habit than anything else, but I also don't know how much that's actually doing to deter new users. The worst of the hostile old people are largely confined to social boards, which virtually nobody is going to stumble across as their first impression of GameFAQs. The demographics do potentially mean that younger users are going to feel out of place even on the game boards, but the nature of game-specific boards means you get a new community every time a new game comes out, so I don't know that that's as insurmountable as you might think.Not only that... if I'm playing a game and have a question, and today's SEO somehow still brings me to gamefaqs (and not youtube/reddit/etc), I'm going to see it, get the answer, and leave. That's not going to keep me here as a new user, let alone one who also somehow manages to stumble upon these social boards that fandom thinks are the reason this place is dying. --- Cupcake |

If I enjoy the game immensely and start to replay it, I may start browsing through a guide to see what I missed. Then when I go back to the game, I'll refer to the guides here and there, but not really for 100% completion. Only game I ever 100% followed a guide to 100% completion to was Lost Odyssey, and that's after playing through it like 3-4 times first because it's so fucking good. --- Cupcake |

The actual soda costs less to purchase than the cups they come in. But every time I have calls with these bigger companies and see a Zoom invite come across, I just get so baffled. Do people actually enjoy the massive audio delay? Bullshit. Quality be damned, Five Guys is about as expensive as you can get for any restaurant chain. A combo there isn't 12 or 13 dollars. Try 17 or higher depending on what you want for a burger, fries, and drink.Couple of things. First, Five Guys is the most expensive for sure when it goes to fast food chains, no denying that. But the difference is, their quality matches. The burgers themselves are far and away better than any comparable fast food place. You can't rip them on price without acknowledging that. Secondly, and maybe I'm behind because I haven't been to one in a while, but they don't do combos. You get a burger or a burger with fries or a burger with fries and a drink. Even better. No other fast food place offers a burger and fry combo without throwing a drink at you. As someone who doesn't drink soda (aside from cocktail mixers), it's a huge perk. I don't like paying for things I don't want. Unfortunately, at every other fast food place, if I order a burger and fry completely separate, the price is usually just as much as getting the burger and fry combo meal (which comes with a drink). And getting a drink is nuts anyways IMO given the actual soda/syrup costs less than the cup it's put in. But that's a digression. For comparison, I just went into the Five Guys website for the one near me in a medium-sized metro city. I was able to do a bacon cheeseburger and little fry (which we know is a lot more fry than any other fast food fry). Total came out to $17.39 including tax. By comparison, the closest mcdonalds to that five guys and closest sandwich is presumably a double bacon quarter pounder with cheese. Add to that a large fry. Total comes out to $14.33 including tax. (in fairness, I actually just tried the double quarter pounder bacon with cheese MEAL (with soda) and it comes out even cheaper - $13.70 after tax). So there's a $3-$4 difference for the most apples-to-apples order between 5G and mcdonalds. I hardly think it's easy in your case to say "quality be damned" when A.) the price difference is $3-$4, B.) the quality IS leagues apart between the two chains, and C.) the quantity of the fries helps make up some of that dollar gap anyways. tldr I guess is, yes five guys is the most expensive of the fast food burger chains but their quality and quantity increases are more than enough to justify the upcharge. --- Cupcake |

Wish I had more time that night though, it was later in the evening when I got there and barely made it to the last train. I bought Shibuya Sky in advance and they were holding up a sign that said no more tickets available for the day. Seems you could probably get in day-of if you go in the morning, but there was also a line, so I'd recommend buying in advance for that as well. Same with Tokyo Tower. Buy in advance. There wasn't a line when we went, but no point in inviting that risk. My one recommendation as someone who did two observation-type events: Do one at daytime and one at nighttime. A sunset one would be ideal if you can snag one (won't be an issue this far in advance). There isn't really a benefit to doing both at daytime or both at nighttime.
