I see a different scenario for renters coming in US and hope I am wrong. There is all of this stimulus money for businesses. I think owners of apartment buildings are planning to use stimulus money to remodel and all renters will have to move whether or not they have been paying rent.

Chicago, NE region, opening up. If you look at the overall numbers, then this appears justified. The positivity rate is going down. Beds are available, ect. I could carp about which neighborhoods get the testing and where these beds are but this is insignificant to the elder care facility situation.

We are opening up in Illinois because all of these people are out of sight and out of mind and out of the economy. Old people are dying so that we can hang out on the beach. This is the unseen, unheard and unfelt SEGREGATION. We (I) have no idea what we are losing. It is crazy that old people are totally isolated. It is crazy that we have no use and no value for their potential. I can say this but to be honest I do not really know what I am saying because of the foregoing.

3:41 p.m.: Lightfoot to introduce coronavirus tenant protection ordinance
Mayor Lori Lightfoot plans to introduce a package next week designed to give renters whove lost income due to the coronavirus pandemic a measure of protection against evictions, even as some housing advocates hope to strengthen it in the coming days to do more for tenants.
The mayors latest proposal comes a month after progressive aldermen ripped another Lightfoot tenant protection ordinance as inadequate and blocked it, at least temporarily, from getting approved.
The new measure sets rules to follow for people who cant make their rent payments because of the economic upheaval and rash of layoffs due to the coronavirus.
Under the guidelines the Lightfoot administration plans to submit to the City Council Housing Committee on Monday, tenants who inform landlords theyve been financially impacted by the pandemic would get seven days to try to engage in some kind of good faith negotiations to come to a mutually satisfactory agreement for repayment of the unpaid rent.
According to the ordinance, the landlord would have the option to offer to spread out repayment of each months unpaid rent over 60 days, to submit the matter for mediation, to apply the tenants security deposit toward the unpaid amount, to offer to waive all or part of the unpaid rent if the tenant moves out, or to enter into some other agreement with the renter.
In a letter to Housing Committee Chairman Ald. Harry Osterman, 48th, the Chicago Housing Justice League said the mayors plan has some promising language that will benefit renters, but its effectiveness is undermined by a few loopholes and otherwise unenforceable provisions.
In particular, the letter predicted unscrupulous landlords would circumvent the rules by simply terminating month-to-month leases with 30 days notice.

Air is a fluid, but is not a liquid. It doesn't have surface tension. And that's not how any of this works. COVID19 viral particles are only known to be infectious when in liquid droplets in the first place..they arent even known to aerosol.
So..what are you even on about?

I listened to this video carefully. OK. Here is the rub. Dr Kerkhove says that asymptomatic cases are identified by contact tracing. Contacts are told to isolate. So yeah the contacts are told to isolate and spread of covid-19 by these isolating contacts is not significant in comparison to the spread by people who do not isolate.

She is not talking about asymptomatic cases in the general population because in these countries that rely on contact tracing instead of testing there is no way to measure the spread from asymptomatic cases.

I know it is cold to think this while people are dying but I love my coffee. Brazil is a major coffee producer and now is taking its covid-19 score boards down. I do feel for them especially as I have known engineering grads who emigrated there. I wish I could do something. I do.
