I wonder why the female cat isn't interested in any of the toys we got for her. She hardly ever goes up on the cat tower. We got a little Y-shaped tube thing for her to go in, but she's ignored that. We got a small fluffy floor cushion for her to sleep on, and she used it maybe once or twice. We once had this little bristly arch thing to rub against, and both cats ignored that (guess the male cat preferred a living human's touch).

Only thing she's ever played with is yarn balls and any dangly thing being moved around by a person.

oh don't worry, that's just how all cats are. there's plenty of examples ppl post online where they get a thing but the cat wants the box it came in. and yeah, yarn is also a classic thing for cats to go after on their own.

I think the cats that actually use the things we humans make for them are those that were sorta raised with them from when they're kittens.

It's trash day and the trash guys showed up, but the recycling guys are still nowhere to be seen. I think they're not showing up because they think they can't get in. One of the entrances to the parking lot is being redone with fresh concrete, so is barricaded temporarily. However, there's a second entrance right next to it about 20 feet away. Either they've got bad eyesight, or they're too lazy to make two extra turns. Do they think we're just barricaded in? That a whole community is just sitting back, not using their cars?

is there a number you can call to explain that? otherwise they might not realize it for another week.

Our recycling got switched from being collected biweekly to weekly, and the recycling guys haven't shown up for two weeks. Ours is starting to pile up. Just another annoyance for the pile.

that's bad management from whoever/whatever is in charge of that. even if the schedule added more times, they should show up on the time they were supposed to.

Fuck, we just went through a real rager of a storm! Near hurricane-level rains, nasty hail, strong winds, and lightning. Our power actually got knocked out for a moment. Standing on the porch to look at things, I was startled by an extremely close bolt of lightning that couldn't have been more than a few blocks away.

...and after some calm, the rain is picking up again. Time for round two?

I bet the eye passed over you, then. the eye is the calm part, so now the other half is moving in.

I miss having an openly affectionate cat. Our male cat always nuzzled my hand like he hadn't been pet in weeks, purred loudly, happily hopped up in my lap for a nap, and looked at you with this look of "I love you. You mean the world to me!"

The female cat expresses affection, too, but in a much more downplayed manner. She only lays in your lap nowadays if you have a blanket over it. Still, I'm giving her all the love I can. She's old; probably has a year or two left at most.

yeah, don't think about the negative, go for the positive and give as much as you can.

The Canadian wildfires are affecting us once again. For the past couple of days, we've actually had haze in the air. All my life living here, and I've never seen haze. And yet I'm sure this is a paradise in comparison to Canada right now. Ain't the 2020s grand?

I hate when games do that; where you've got one enemy that has a nasty reaction to you doing a certain action, but there's another enemy alongside it who you can't get past without doing that action.

it would be more realistic (even for a fictional zombie world) if the enemies were also enemies with each other. lickers going after X or even each other if they make too much noise, that could add another layer of strategy where you use them against each other.

You guys having any air quality alerts? There's been some nasty wildfires in Canada that caused smoke to drift down to the States. We got a cloudy day yesterday that looked slightly unnatural, and that was because of the smoke. There's pics of New York where it looks all orange and smoggy.

heard about that, but I'm far away from that here in the Borderland of El Paso.

"Alright, then," you say, "we'll make sure you can change the truck into a chopper."

The Titans East "E-Car" as well as the Titans South "S-Truck" head on ahead and you watch the street traffic.

"Okay, start up the transformation," you tell Kole.

Kole presses whatever buttons and flips whatever switches she needs to, and the process begins. Obviously, the first thing is the tires being tucked away to be replaced by the landing skids. The truck bed extends to be the tail, complete with producing a rotor, rudder, and stabalizers.

A car turns the corner but slows to a stop as they see the still-transforming vehicle in front of them.

"Sorry, sorry," you tell them. "It'll just be another moment."

From the truck's roof, the mast emerges, and out come the main rotor blades themselves. Kole and Gnark give you thumbs up, you and Raven give the thumbs up back, and the rotors start moving. You and Raven go back to the door as the wind gets blowing and the T-Copter takes off.

"Thank you for waiting," you say to the car.

The car finally continues on, and you bring the Toddler Titans to your very normal car.

"Oh, wait," Raven says. "How are we supposed to get the Toddler Titans and their things to the tower? Your car is, well, a normal car, and Shadowfax is a motorcycle. Even with a sidecar, that's not going to be enough."

"Hmm... That's all true. Should've had the others join us in going to my place. But okay, we can all go to my place, the Toddler Titans get their luggage, we all go to the coast together. Raven will use magic to fly the Toddler Titans all across the water, then I go back to get Shadowfax so that I can cross the water."

"That should work," Raven says.

You and the Toddlers get in the car, same as before dinner. Raven flies Bobby and you drive home. You pull into the garage, exit the car with the Toddlers and enter the main house. The Toddlers gather up the sleeping bags and their luggage. They pack their things, hurry back into the garage with you, and Raven takes off with Bobby once again.

It takes a bit longer to get to the water than the restaurant, but it's still a smooth trip. Raven is already waiting with Bobby as you pull up. The Toddlers file out, you make sure they have everything, and then Raven makes a large platform with her mana. The five of them fly across the water with that while you drive back home.

A call comes in on your Titan communicator as you wheel Shadowfax out.

"Hey, Rorek," Raven says. "Good news, the others finished up with Sportsmaster and the ice siblings."

"Wonderful," you say. "Then perhaps we can all relax with..."

Some dataminers found references to a more in-depth classroom and house point system. You could earn points for your house by doing various little things and lose them for being mean and using dark magic. It could have essentially been a magical version of Bully. If they make a sequel (with 15m sales, I don't see why they wouldn't), they should definitely bring it back.

that does sound pretty neat. and would oddly be an incentive to be a jerk as a Slytherin and be nice as literally any of the other houses.

More non-horror games should have horror or horrorish sections. I doubt we'll see any horror games from anyone besides Capcom or the hollow shell of Konami, so other devs should give us a taste of what they're capable of.

hecc yeah, legit horror game from Pokmon and GameFreak. there are certainly plenty of Ghost types with Pokedex lore fitting of that.

"We can probably just go back to Titans Tower," you say. "Well, you and I should stop by the house to get the Toddler Titans' things, and then we'll get them to Titans Tower. Then we'll all wait there for the others."

"I suppose that's fine," Raven says. "For all we know, the battle will be done by the time we get there."

You hope that didn't just jinx things. Which would be interesting since Jinx is headed over there.

"Sibbie," you say. "Please pack the leftover Queen's Apple Tarts, we'll make sure our friends get them later."

"Yes, Chef," Sibbie says.

Sibbie goes to the kitchen, and a minute later, comes out with a box. You thank her, and you let Beast Boy take the box to take to Titans Tower. He rides with Titans East's Bumblebee and Aqualad.

"Um, are you going to be okay driving the truck?" Raven asks Kole in reference to what the Titans North brought to the restaurant.

"Umm..." Kole says. "Well, I've only had a couple lessons. If I could get room to transform it back into a helicopter, that'd be easier."

"Wow, the helicopter turns into a truck?" you say.

"Well, yeah," Kole says with a chuckle. "Where'd you think we got the truck?"

"I guess that's a good point," you say.

A) Help it transform back into a helicopter
B) Have someone else drive it for her

that seems to be the paradox of technology. it helps us in a lot of ways when it works right, but it also annoys the hell out of us in a lot of ways when it doesn't.

"Yes!" Starfire says. "We shall cause Kold and Kate to have the melt down!"

"Wow, great joke, Star," Beast Boy says.

"Why me?" Jinx asks.

"You said Kold's your ex so maybe you can affect him," Raven says.

"Then how am I supposed to get there when everyone else flies or goes really fast?" Jinx says.

"Starfire can fly you there," Raven says.

"I shall be very careful," Starfire says.

Jinx is still hesitant but this new set of five heads out.

"Ten Titans to handle three villains," Aqualad says. "Who would've thought it'd take that much."

"Control Freak had enough gadgets to make all five of us run around and save the city," Bumblebee says.

"Jinx, Gizmo and Mammoth were a lot for us five when they first showed up," Raven also points out.

"Honestly, anything Slade did was a lot for an entire team," Beast Boy says.

"Yeah, I guess so," Aqualad says.

With almost half the group absent, it's a bit hard for the rest of you to enjoy your dessert quite as much as before. You really hope things finish up over there before it gets any later.

You finish your tart and your slice of pie, and it seems most of the others are also finishing their dessert.

"What should we do if the others aren't done there before we're done here?" Raven asks.

A) Go back to Titans Tower
B) Go to Jump City Arena

The freezer is starting to buzz again. This shit was supposed to have been fixed!

I'm losing my fucking mind here. My mom's forcing us to do a bunch of renovations, I'm getting over the mouse incident, and my brother caught covid again. I really don't need to deal with this fucking freezer acting up again.

sorry to hear that, Mega. how old is the freezer? could it be the wiring getting old? the house I'm in has had work on this and that but it still has problems because of a deeper wiring problem.
