The characters. That's what really drew me in and kept me. I loved the characters. Their stories. How all of these wildly different people all ended up on the same ship, following the same path but all for different reasons. Mal was an terribly flawed person but he managed to care about everyone on his ship, even when they did something incredibly stupid or selfish and tried to sell someone out in a moment of fear and weakness. They were a messed up family that came together out of convenience for the most part and they all had their own motivations, but in the end they would go through hell for each other. Yes they were bandits. But they also put themselves at risk to help strangers along the way, for no other reason than it was the right thing to do and no body else was sta doing up for them. I enjoyed the setting and the stories. But it was totally about the people. They were what made me feel shit when watching that show. Most shows don't make me feel shit beyond a surface level entertainment. This show tugged at my heart strings on several occasions. Like the episode where Jayne decides to betray the doctor and his sister. That scene at the end between Mal and Jayne.

I wanted to know everything there was to know about these people. I wanted to see where their path was taking them. I wanted to see them grow. I wanted to see them win. I wanted to see them love.

While the whole space opera/western setting wasn't new, it was still very refreshing change of pace from the typical scifi setting that nearly every other show or movie would do. And they did the western/space thing better than anyone else who had tried it, IMO.

It was nice to see some closure with the movie. But the movie just didn't have the same feel as the show. There was something different about it. Something was off.

It would have gotten at least a second season on any other network. But they had the misfortune of being on Fox. Who terribly mishandled the show. Changing time slots. Showing episodes out of order. And their usual habit of canceling anything that wasn't a huge hit right from the get go.

Metallica overall. But I love GnR's first two albums, Lies and Appetite, more than anything Metallica ever did. But GnR went to shit after Appetite. The Illusion albums had a handful of good songs that really felt like GnR. But half of those had their vibe ruined with some stupid rants midway through the song.

Ok. I'm awake now.

I was 9. So it would have been 1986. Not sure how, but I was aware of what marijuana was at that age. This was long before it was everywhere. Before everyone wore clothing with pot leaves all over it. But I recognized it growing over the fence of my best friend's house. There was an older boy living next door to me. I told him about it. He had me spend the night at his house that night. We snuck out, got one of his friends and rode our bikes down to the pot house. We broke the back gate open, each pulled up a plant and rode off down the street carrying these great big pot plants. I was 9 years old, riding down the street on my bike at like 2 am with a pot plant that was probably a good 7 feet tall.

I stole lots of stuff. So much. Most of it wasn't memorable though. There was another time that I stole a large chocolate bar from the grocery store when I was a kid. Not much older than when I stole the money at church. I didn't know what bakers chocolate was. I just saw an extra large bar of Hershey's chocolate and wanted it. Candy bars didnt6typocally come this big. The size is probably what tempted me to actually do it as stealing g from the grocery store wasn't something I usually did. I was proud of getting away with it right under my mother's nose. But super disappointed when I got ot home and tried to eat it. I ended up getting caught anyway. Got in trouble for stealing it and didn't even get to enjoy eating it. Mom made me go back to the store and apologize.

I just thought of another thing. But I'm in bed.and quote sleepy. Maybe I'll remember to post it tomorrow.

I was 7 years old. I stole $20 from the lady that taught the kids class at our church. I saw where she kept her purse, noticed that she always left it there after class when everyone headed to the big room. After a few days of this I went over to the window and unlocked it. Then when we were all in the big room I excused myself to use the bathroom. Instead, I went outside, around the building and behind the shrubs that were all down the side, blocking anyone's view of the windows there. Climbed in, stole the money, climbed back out and hid it under a rock just in case I got accused. I did end up being accused. I was able to show my mom that I didn't have the money so it couldn't have been me. Afterwards I went and retrieved the money. This would have been back in 1984.

I just kept hitting random. I almost settled on one that looked like a fat, drunken Johnny Dep. But I kept going. Then I got what looked like a young Sean Penn if he had Down Syndrome. But again, I kept going. I started to regret passing up on that Sean Penn. But eventually this came up and I knew he was the one. It made me think of an older, angrier Inigo Montoya. The purple hair was just the icing on the cake. I'm happy I didn't settle for the Down Syndrome Sean Penn.

My right and left was confusing for ages. Then it just wasn't one day.

Me too! I think I just focused on what was right because I'm right-handed, and that's how I figured it out.

When I was working at Home Depot I saw one of the cashiers there telling a customer where something was. She needed to tell him it was on the left side. But she paused, brought her right hand up, made a quick writing motion, then proceeded to tell him it was on the left side of the aisle. She had to ghost write in the air to remember which was right and left. She knows that she is right handed so this is how she remembers right from left. I couldn't help myself and started busting up. I had to tease her about it for little while.

Yes. Because they didn't even bother to call 911 to try and get help. They just let the place and her burn without even trying to get her help.

While not trying to get grandma out was a very awful thing, I don't feel someone should be able to be charged with a crime for not going back into a burning building to save someone.

Unless it can be shown that they started the fire. But that's a different issue.

Arabians are a good choice. They tend to have a pretty good temperament. They're a little on the smaller side but are stronger than they look. If you're a big guy you might look a little silly riding around on one though. There were a few at the ranch that I used to work on and they were all good with kids. They were typically the ones that the the younger kids started working with first.

I'm partial to the Mustang. Mustangs come in a variety of colors but I like the classic chestnut body with the lighter main and tail that people typically associate with the Mustang. They can be great horses too. The best horse my mother has (IMO) was the wild caught Mustang that she picked up at a governemnt auction. My little niece rides her often. I think she was 9 when she first started riding her regularly. Her pony had died and she wanted to move on to full sized horses.

Appalossas are another good one. They come in some very striking patterns. Like the Dalmation appaloosa. My mother prefers them. She's had several over the years and every one has been quite gentle and easy to train. She always trusted them with her grandkids. Her appaloosas were the ones that she would put first time riders on.

Make sure everyone is aware what date 2 weeks is (November 4th they should be gone then?). Sometimes 2 weeks becomes 2 years.

Hell yes. Spelled out in no uncertain terms. In writing and signed by both people that will be staying. Otherwise two weeks can turn into three, then four, now they have mail coming to the house, then they claim residence and now you have to go through legal proceedings to have them evicted. Then your landlord kicks you out for violating the lease by having more people than listed living there.

They sign a paper acknowledging when they are to leave. Or forget it. An unemployed bum and a girl who hates her job who both have a ton of credit card debt. Good luck.
