I still lived with my parents at the time (who were also poor) and went to community college, then transferred to a relatively cheap state college so FAFSA basically covered everything between grants and federal loans as long as I remained fulltime. --- |

I mean, I worked a grocery store for 6 years before my current tech job. On my resume I have highlights from that job showing 'soft skills' (people skills, flexability, etc). Having unrelated experience is almost always better than no experience. Resume tailoring has been mentioned, good. Also, having a Linkedin is important too imo. Fill out your profile, follow the companies you apply for and connect with their recruiters and mention that you're interested in 'x' position and look forward to chatting with them if they think you're a good fit. Also, the other posters are right, 26 is small potatoes tbh. --- |
